Side Mirror Defrost Indicator question

According to the manual, the side mirror defrost is activated along with the rear window defrost. I am curious if the little defrost symbols on the mirror are supposed to illuminate when its activated. I've turned on my window defrost and haven't seen anything in the little symbol on the mirror. Granted I only turned it on for 30 seconds since its not that cold yet to prevent any damage to the windows.

Thanks.

Re: Side Mirror Defrost Indicator question

I doubt very much that they'd "light up".
My WK has the same feature with the same mirror icon, no lighting up, just turns on with demister.

Re: Side Mirror Defrost Indicator question

I don't think you can damage mirrors by turning it on at any temperature. I used it to de-fog mirrors/rear glass numerous times on my old ZJ

Re: Side Mirror Defrost Indicator question

it would be impossible to damage the glass from running the defroster, have no fear lol

Thanks.
The sun is much hotter than the heat function, and it hasn't melted any mirrors that I'm aware of.

Yes... to (hopefully) prevent people from scraping them.

Depending on model, the mirrors also auto-dim. Wouldn't want to scape them up!

I noticed that other drivers' headlights on the side mirrors no longer bother me, just like with the rear view mirror. My rear view mirror is auto-dim, does that mean that the side mirrors are the same?
