Re: Side Mirror Puddle/Courtesy Lights

The puddle lamps are off if the power folding mirrors are folded in.

Re: Side Mirror Puddle/Courtesy Lights

After reading this thread yesterday I realized my puddle lights weren't working at all. I tried unlocking with the key fob, nothing. That didn't make sense to me anyway, because if you had to unlock with the fob, you wouldn't get any light exiting the car.

I have only folded my mirrors a couple of times, but figured maybe it had something to do with the lights. So I just went out to the Jeep, folded the mirrors in and back out. When I opened the door to get out of the Jeep, they came on.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.

Re: Side Mirror Puddle/Courtesy Lights

Anybody know why the puddle lights do not work when the mirrors are folded? I usually fold the mirrors since they stick out so far. If you a parked along a street folding the mirrors seems like a good idea but it is also nice to have the puddle lights.

Actually they DO behave the same. The puddle lights illuminate whether the mirrors are folded in or not on my U.S. 2015 Overland.

Side Mirror Puddle/Courtesy Lights

They must have fixed the issue for 2015. I have a 2014 with an april 2013 build date. Maybe the dealer can fix mine. Anybody else have a 2014 where the puddle lights stay on when the mirrors are folded?

Re: Side Mirror Puddle/Courtesy Lights

Got the ORC module recall done, and there doesn't seem to be any problem with that. While they had it they did the following flash updates, even though I didn't request them, or tell them I was having any problems. They flashed the following modules: AMP, HVAC, BCM, PCM, and TCM. I had to go through my settings and reset a number of them that changed because of the flashes.

Thought I had everything back to normal until I went out this evening and noticed my approach lighting in the outside rearview mirrors ( puddle lamps) don't light anymore when I remote unlock the vehicle. I went through all the settings again, and couldn't find anything to toggle that feature on or off.

I really like the approach lighting, and I'm very disappointed they don't work. Anyone have any ideas? I'll be calling the dealer next week if I can't figure this out.

Re: Side Mirror Puddle/Courtesy Lights

They must have addressed the puddle lights not coming on when mirrors are folded on the 2015's. My '15 Overland's puddle lights do in fact illuminate when the mirrors are folded...although they pretty much only illuminate the sides of the doors as the lamps are mounted fairly far inboard on the mirrors.

Re: Side Mirror Puddle/Courtesy Lights

Update: Early this morning I went out and tried the puddle lights again, nothing. I never fold my mirrors in, so I thought I'd give that a try. Nothing happened on the first button push, but they folded in on the second, and worked normally after that. Tried the lights again, and they worked. Strange behavior, but all's well that ends well. Hope they keep working.
