Then use the hard numbers. There is NO data from any source that tracks reliability data or trends that shows that Jeep is more reliable or even anywhere near as reliable as Toyota. Not one source.

As for frame rot, wouldn't have rotted out on me in 2.5 years, I DID have 27 warranty repairs done to my 2011 JGC over 2.5 years. I did also own a Lexus with an engine that had "oil sludge". It's still on the road with 175k miles...no sludge. You just have to change the oil. It's probably the most reliable car I've ever owned. I also run a Toyota/Lexus forum and if you showed evidence of one oil change per year they would cover a sludge repair on that motor. That's way less than the factory requirement. The only people who were denied coverage were people who had clearly not maintained their cars.

There are PLENTY of owners here with problems. Your argument that it's just some isolated thing is ridiculous. Chrysler/Jeep obviously still has work to do when it comes to reliability, pretending it doesn't just makes you look like a clueless fanboy. I'm obviously a fan, I had problems and still bought another. My new one is MUCH better than my old one...but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of people still have issues with these vehicles.

As someone who would like to own more Jeeps, I'd love to trade mine on a 3 row Wagoneer, I want to see them get better, not pretend they make the most reliable vehicle on the planet because they obviously don't.

Re: Slammed by Consumer Reports, Fiat Chrysler quality chief resigns

I'm not going to say much and you can bash me all you want. I have owned jeeps my whole life I would trade it in with every new model, I did pass up on the first gen WK. I still have my WJ with over 240000 miles and still going strong I was looking into getting a WK2 when my son graduates college but all of my friends with W2 have had the same problem with the TIPM and other things and I know some of them are little things but they should not be happening with modern cars, come on a bad relay! Now for the second time in my life I'm thinking about not buying a Jeep again so I may keep mine even longer till the day it dies then buy the perfected WK2 or the ML350. I'm think problem is that Benz did not finish designing the WK2. Its going to be sad when I don't have a Jeep in my garage but I need to get to work and I need something to take me and its to far to walk.

One last thing why do people buy a WK2 even with all the problems? it's very simple it is a very beautiful vehicle inside and out and most people don't read up on the problems and most don't think that will happen to me until it does.

So sell the Jeep you are unhappy with and buy a Toyota. Life is too short to be unhappy. It is highly unlikely you are going to get many of us here to change our minds and agree with you. So as nicely as I can put it, it is time to end this trading of barbs. You are unhappy with your Jeep and I love my Jeep. That is not going to change. If I were to total my Jeep today I would go out and buy another one without even looking at other vehicles. Since this is a website for Jeep enthusiasts why don't you hop on over to a Toyota website where your views would better fit in, instead of continuing to trade barbs with the rest of us? I think you would be more comfortable on a Toyota website. Obviously most people here have already made up their minds as to what they want and enjoy. As I have always said I wish you the best in your vehicle endeavors and hope you find the one that gives you as much happiness and satisfaction as I get from my Jeep. Peace.

It takes two to tango, bud. You can say all that in the mirror and contemplate it for yourself. As for me, I want to like me Jeep. I really do. But how can I like something when it doesn't work right? Should I be happy with it anyway? Would you? No, I don't think you would. So if I want to vent my frustration on the forum, who are you to say that I shouldn't be doing that? Seriously, grow up and accept that there are unhappy Jeep owners on this forum.

And don't worry, I will eventually dump my Jeep. When? Well, I'm not sure. I want to give them plenty of opportunity to make it right for me. If they succeed, great. If not, I'll dump it sooner than expected. Like I said earlier, the problem with dumping it now is that I'd lose a ton of money. I still might do that if I'm still dissatisfied with it. Time will tell...

Which issue and WHICH PAGE did you read that? I asked you, but you refused to answer. Why is that? Make it easy for me and tell me already instead of asking me to search for it. Or better yet, since you made the statement, back it up with a link. Or scan the page and post it. It's not up to me to prove your point, it's up to you.

"Chrysler Group LLC’s third-quarter profit climbed 32% to $611 million, lifted by double-digit sales gains in the U.S. amid strong demand for its Jeep sport-utility vehicles and Ram pickup trucks."

And just imagine how well they'd be doing if they didn't have quality or reliability issues. I'm sure they wouldn't even be able to keep up with the demand.

I did it because there was no other vehicle that I liked that fit the bill for me. I came from a 4Runner and love them and how reliable they are, but the current 4Runner design is just horrible, inside and out. They couuldn't have made it any uglier if they tried. So I decided to gamble on Jeep and hope that I get a good one. Obviously, I didn't make out very well on that gamble. Would I buy a Jeep again in the future? Odds are severely against it, but who knows what will happen in the future...
