Sloshing sound coming from under floor.

Where to start, I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, a little over a month ago I had the front windshield replaced with a Pilkington after market windshield, from everything I've read they are just as good as Mopar at a fraction of the cost. The next day I got out on the interstate and I heard a humming sound coming from the windshield like air was getting through, I called them and they came out to reseal it, the next day the same sound was coming from the glass, I took it back to them and the owner worked on it for me, again the same sound is coming from the glass. It's rained a few times and everything seemed to be okay other than the sound, but then it snowed which is very rare for this part of Texas, since that snow has melted I've heard a sloshing sound, like there is gallons of water coming from the floorboards and the carpet is wet on both sides of the car. I've read through every post I could find and I got under the car and pulled the drain plugs on the passenger side and the water on the side seemed to drain out, but I can't find the plugs for the drivers side and that's where most of the water is. Anyways, I called the company that put my glass in and told them about the problems I'm having and the owner said that that much water wouldn't have been able to get down there from a leak in the windshield (of course he says this), but for me to bring it back up there and he would check to see if the sunroofs drainage line is clogged. I'm going to make them replace the glass and I would make them pay for me to have the carpets cleaned if I could prove that the water was coming from the windshield. My questions are what would you do if you were in the situation and does anyone know where the drainage plugs are on the drivers side. My hopes are I can find the plugs on the drivers side and get all the water out of there and have them replace the windshield and my problem will be solved...

Have you tried a wet/dry vacuum? Might be able to suck most of the water up

So, there is no way to drain the water on the drivers side. The only way to get the water out was to remove the seat, the carpet and the false plastic bottom, it's actually kind of easy. I washed the carpet with soap and water and let it dry out for a few days in front of a fan and cleaned up the water. Hope no one else has this issue but if they do...

This document shows you how to remove the seat:

It was coming from the windshield, I'm pretty sure, of course the guy that replaced my windshield said it was coming from the sunroof drain and he squirted some water down it to show me it was clogged and it drained right out...

Just curious did you have this done at Safelite. As I was told to avoid them at all costs. Shoddy work and they use cheap imported non-OEM glass.

No, it was a local company, the glass is Pilkington and I believe they make the OEM glass for GM. The guys reattached the glass four times and it still making the humming sound when I get up to 70 MPH so it leads me to believe there's a defect in the glass and I'm going to have them replace it completely.

Re: Sloshing sound coming from under floor.

I got my windshield replaced in September of 2013. Went with a local company, but insisted on OEM Mopar part. For some reason, after the install, the auto wiper didn't function as it did before. Turned out the sensor went bad somehow (not sure whose fault it was). Took it to the dealer and the sensor was replaced under warranty.

If you have the automatic rain sensor, make sure it functions as it did before.

Cheers,
-A
