Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

Mine is a 2wd Limited 3.6
We have a really good dealer here in town and I've got a call into them to see if I can get some info.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

Spoke with several techs that PDI the WK2's and they said they haven't had anything mentioned to them regarding the plug removal. Got a few others still digging for an answer.

In the meantime, I have yet again had to pull the same plug on the drivers side to drain out more water. This time I KNOW for a fact it snuck in at the car wash being we haven't had any measurable rain here in the past few days.

I am seriously wondering if there is supposed to be a drain tube there instead of this rubber grommet. Wherever the water is entering from has to have efficient drainage. It just borks my mind why it's getting trapped in the floorpans and not exiting.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

It's got to be either the sunroof drain or the A/C drain. Neither should empty into that cavity. I say that based on the fact that mine has never had a drop of water in the space and I've been through torrential rain, car washes and the A/C runs constantly and pisses all over my garage floor when I park it

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

The AC drain on the passenger side drains just fine. There is a small outlet tube opposite the location of the "gusher plug" on the drivers side.
Hopefully I'll have some time within the next few days to track down this gremlin. In the meantime, I'll leave the plug out since I wash my vehicles quite frequently.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

Just drained the Drivers side plug and it unloaded about 2 gallons of water. Thanks for the pics on where to find it! It's the first time I noticed the sloshing because the Jeep is usually, and always garaged. I had left it out overnight during a huge rainstorm and the next day is when I heard the water. We'll see what the dealer says about it-

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

My 5.7 4x4 Overland has a build date of Feb 2011. I removed the 2 flat plugs from under the passengers side and the one flat plug from under the drivers side with no water leakage. The A/C drains just a little off center toward the drivers side.

I had a very small area around the floor mat hook that was soaked. They had the drivers side seat removed and the carpet pulled up and will let the area dry out over the weekend.
So what was the charge to fix this from the dealer? Do you think that it can be an easy "at home" fix?

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I had the same problem ended up being a leak in my radiator. Only found out after driving in heavy traffic and engine got hot and had to stop as engine started smoking. Lucky i got it towed if had of driven it more would of damaged my engine.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I heard a sloshing sound driver's side under floorboard after a big storm, did some research and saw this thread. I took it into a dealership and they confirmed some earlier replies here about the factory plug that doesn't drain properly (...or at all). They replaced it with a different part that allows drainage w/o letting water in the other direction. Person I spoke with claimed it was a common service bulletin job covered under warranty.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I have a 2011 JGC Overland with the air suspension, and took mine to the dealer today for the same exact sloshing sound. I only have 13,300 mi, V8 hemi, and adventure pkg (skid plates, thicker tires, trail rated, ect). I don't trust this service department yet, so will post what they come up with for an answer.
