Its the gas tank. Have it one mine as well. Seems like it is due to this tank being more blocky or squared off than my commander or WJ. Those tanks are more curved. Kinda like if you take a half full water bottle and lay it on it's side and move the water back and forth the long way it makes a lot more noise than sloshing it back and forth gently the narrow direction. Keep your tank mostly full and it seems to be be less noisy. Better for fuel pump and filter anyways.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I have the same problem. Took mine to the dealer today. They found about 5 gallons of water under the drivers side floor board. They are baffled but said the air condition drain pipe had a kink in it. Also check your carpet under the drivers side floor mat and see if its wet. I had a very small area around the floor mat hook that was soaked. They had the drivers side seat removed and the carpet pulled up and will let the area dry out over the weekend.

Wow! Now that's an unusual problem. Please keep us posted. Anyone else have such water?

I've had this happen in other vehicles usually explained by a clogged drain line. I'm glad it was this and not the gas tank. You should not hear sloshing in the gas tank.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I hear something similar but more like thumping. Happena once in a while. Most likely the gas moving around in the tank.

I kept on thinking it was the gas tank until I filled the gas tank and still heard the sloshing sound....I am glad I took it in before a deep freeze hit the area. I dont think the expansion of freezing water would have been a good thing. As I wrote above I had about 5 gallons of water trapped under the drivers side floor board.
