For the first time I heard the gas tank sloshing sound but only from the exterior while tightening the rear wheel lugnuts which caused JGC to rock back and forth a bit.
maybe it wasn't a gas tank...

Many are not removed and we now remove them when we DPI the units for retail. The reason you noticed it on day 1 is because it went through a car wash when it was detailed. It's real simple to remove from beneath the car about 8" in at the plane where the driver and rear passenger doors meet. A little harder to reach if you have skid plates. If you are hearing sloshing you have a lot of water in there, so stand clear when you pull the plug. Better yet, have a dealership do it. There should be no charge for them to pull the plug. This drain system is actually a plus and is made of a rust proof metal that should never corrode. Just get the drain unplugged before it fills up to avoid having water come up through the floor. Once the plug is removed, you'll never hear sloshing again. As soon as we get a CG on a lift I'll take some pics.
Please post up some pictures. I looked under my new Overland and I don't see exactly which one of the 3 plugs that are in there you are talking about. 2 of them are male side down, facing out from the bottom of the truck. The 3rd is reversed looking like it was pushed up into a hole from underneath. I also saw on the passenger side towards the rear of that same pan a drain grommet with an end on it that looks like it would close to prevent water from coming back up from below when fording. I didn't see anything on the drivers side but it's covered by a plastic panel. I did remove the one that's pushed up and it was dry so I put it back.

PIC PLEASE!

I agree with mjw. We need pics or a diagram to identify the correct plug to remove.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I got the sloshing too, floor underneath the drivers seat was wet and so was the lid to the battery compartment. Hasn't rained in 3 days, so it's not from my feet and I'm pretty sure I didn't piss myself.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I found 1 rubber plug in the postion that ar15nova describes, and a 2nd plug about 8" to the right (facing forward) on the other side of the pan.

Both were dry. Sure would be nice to know if these should really be pulled.

The LID to the batter compartment but not the battery compartment itself? That just doesn't make sense.

That's good and yet another reason I'm glad mine was built in January

It doesn't, however, tell them what to do if there IS water in the battery and wire trays under the seats. (which I do not have even after heavy rains and a car wash)

Also, I'm hesitant to remove any of the rubber plugs in these trays. That would let ground water in which I'm sure isn't part of the design considering the water fording spec is 19" which puts both of these boxes under water.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I am going to have my tank replaced. Mine has always been really bad when over half full. I am sure it'll be an all day trip to the dealer.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

People were laughing at me when I was the first to mentioned that. I don't know if I want my tank replaced though... the more they take it apart the worse it becomes...
