Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

I have a 1/22 build so I have the tank. There is NO sound at all from the tank, if you hear sloshing I would get the updated tank, especially if you plan on doing any offroading. Nothing worse than having fuel sloshing around in the tank while your teetering on a rock ledge.

So what's the fix if there is water on the floor? The entire floor under my feet on the driver side is wet and beginning to smell. I need to take it in to the dealer for an oil change so I'll have them look at it. But when I told them about it last week, they had no clue what it could be from. Possibly a clogged AC line?

Yeah you're right it doesn't. The lids not wet from splashing, I guess it's just wet from soaking up the water from the rest of the floor.

OK, here is a pic of the plug on the passenger side (photo courtesy of Peterson's 4wheel and off road). I pulled the equivalent plug on the drivers side and a couple of gallons of water drained out. No more sloshy, sloshy. I remember having a thud sound in the winter, as someone described before. I now think it was just the trapped water had turned to ice and was bouncing around.

My problem with this is those plugs seal the bins under the seats from water intrusion from below. If water is getting into the battery box (wire tray) then the source of the water needs to be found. These boxes/trays are not supposed to be water collection points, as I understand the design. If they were they would have one way valves to allow water to flow out but not in.

Think about it, if you remove those plugs and attempt to ford water higher than the bottom of the truck (~8 - 10") then water will come streaming into the cockpit. That's why the vent for the battery (that longer nipple to the right in the picture) has the fluted ends, so they will close if water tries to push back in.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

At least we can pull the plugs to check for water, and then put them back in.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm not leaving it out, just until I get the Jeep in for service to have the source of the water found.

Re: Sloshing sound from under the car

Been hearing sloshing, thought it was the soda in my hatch. Found water in my battery compartment, no wet floors. Has anyone found out the cause of the issue generally speaking? Most people seem A/C drain line but that results in drivers side wet floor. No carpets wet here..

My A/C vents to the passenger side, you can see the water puddle under the car. I wouldn't make the assumption that the A/C drain isn't the culprit.

Don't let the dealer off the hook or "suggest" what the solution might be, let then diagnose it and prove they found the source.

It should be easy to tell if something is draining into the battery compartment. If no present hoses or wet carpets leading to the compartment, it has to be internal to that compartment. Could it be the battery is getting hot while charging and causing condensation to build up and slowly creating a large amount of water? Could the battery be leaking fluid? Has anyone with fluid checked to see how long it takes to fill back up?
