Smoke and burning odour from outside of exhaust pipe underneath
3 week old CRD.
I've noticed a few times on returning home after a 20 minute drive the smell of something burning. Originally thought it was neighbours BBQ'ing and using wood with paint on it.
This afternoon though while waiting for the garage door to open I noticed smoke billowing out from underneath the whole car. Jumped out and the stench of something burning was immense. A quick inspection underneath revealed it was coming from numerous areas along the exhaust pipe (not "out" of the exhaust).
First thought was to video it but by the time I grabbed it, the smoke had decreased immensely. The sections that were still smoking when I was recording it were where labels were attached and where brackets are welded to the pipe securing it to the body of the vehicle.
Having had a new vehicle (identical to this) 6 months ago that didn't do this I'm questioning whether this is somewhat normal or something that requires attention. The vehicle temperature/oil gauge was normal (well below midpoint).
