That's weird the 2012 I looked at had it molded into the plastic. What the hell...

+1 to the Mattel parts bin commentary. I aint interested in a stick-on afterthought for my otherwise blockless 9/10 build.

I went out and checked again, and it definitely is a foam block glued or taped in place. Manufacture date is 8/11, and it apparently arrived at the dealer the first or second week of September.

What you say is most encouraging, though, and the first such report on JG. It's not a slam dunk to replace the existing long piece of hard plastic holding the block with what is apparently a new one with the molded snow blocker, but it could be replaced even by an owner. Moral of the story is not to bring the old block into the repair shop should it be starting to work its way loose; just yank it off, put it aside, play dumb, and have the dealer install the new hard plastic part.

What would help is to have a photo posted of the new setup, if anybody comes across one. If nothing else it would give us something to show to doubtful repair shop foremen.

How is the rubber on the hood held in place? Is it double face tape like the blocker or is it screwed into the hood frame? Just wondering as I will be lucky if I can get them to order the part, let alone get them to install it.

It's held in place with double sided tape from what I can tell.

If you are referring to the rubber lip on the inside front of the driver's side of the hood, I can see 3 plastic rivets.

Thanks AAAA! Now to convince the dealer that it is supposed to be there and that they should install it free of charge. When I checked the parts link that Rage provided I noticed there were no part numbers. Is this the usual case with new vehicles from Jeep? Im usually chasing Ford part numbers and every digit stands for something. Now I have to wander into my dealer and tell them, I need one of these things.

Seems to be with Jeep. Just go into the showroom. Point to the part on a display JGC and say, "I'll take that one." They can figure out the part number on their time.

At my dealer the Parts/Service Dept is in a different building than Sales. Guess I will have to leave a trail of donuts from Service to Sales and when the Service Writer and/or Manager follow the trail I can jump out from behind a display vehicle, wrestle them into submission and insist they order the missing part.
