Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

Any problems/concerns with going highway speed for a long duration (3 hours) at 60mph-70mph While in Snow Mode?

And what if barren road conditions, but still in Snow Mode?

Need to take a highway trip in really cold weather, and snowy roads.
In terms of the drivetrain, etc.? Blizzaks will kick ass I'm sure, but just don't want to do anything wrong to the trans/drivetrain.
Tx.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

i thought that the speed limit in snow mode was like 40mph max? at any rate, I don't think you'll have a problem with the Blizzaks on the highway. just leave it in auto for the highway, you should be fine.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

Mine stays in snow mode and never switches out regardless of speed. Quadra-Trac II here.

If it's snowing or the roads are snowy / icy I'm always in snow mode.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

During a Christmas run to WI I ran in snow mode on I-94 when the highway in Lake County IL was completely covered in 2"-5" of snow...no issues at 50mph.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

I have never had mine swith out of snow mode due to speed. Very noticable difference in handling and traction. Have used at 60mph with zero issues.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

As far as I know, Snow mode can be used at any speed. I would think Auto is better for highway unless there is lots of snow on the road.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

This time of year in Michigan I put mine in snow everytime I get in. I have never had it go out of snow mode on its own.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

Same here....I'm always in snow mode whenever there's snow or ice and I've never had it go out of snow mode at any speed...until I shut the vehicle off and restarted the vehicle it started in Auto mode.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

I think people confuse snow mode with ride height. Any select terrain selection that changes the ride height to OR1 will switch back to Auto above 50mph but Snow mode isn't one of those.

Re: Snow Mode ok at higher speeds?

I used snow mode this morning as we had a mix of freezing rain & snow. I travel 55/60-mph for a stretch of my commute and the Select-Terrain stayed in "SNOW" the entire time. I have QTII, not QL.

I thought it was 40-mph, but like I said I don't have QL. Regardless of that, putting the Select-Terrain in snow mode, doesn't alter the ride height.
