There -- you've heard from someone who hasn't had a problem. I agree though -- it is somewhat depressing around here --- to read of all the issues. I think >50% of the people join to complain.
Same here... bought new.. never been back except for my free oil change... rattle here or there doesn't make me bring it back.. I've learned over the years..I wont bring it back to have a mechanic start pulling stuff apart and guess on the cause.

Now if it didn't start or a CV part fell off.. yes.. I'd be back. =0

2011 8k on the odo.. no issues.. drives like its NEW =) dumping for a fully optioned summit CRD 14'

Re: so many problems

I've been living with a few issues the dealer is unable to duplicate or resolve. Constant "KEY NOT FOUND" (changing the battery doesn't last long), shutter, doors don't lock using the remote (half the time I return to the and find the doors unlocked) and the latest is starting it up and it's somehow increased heighth without me touching the button. Otherwise I love this WK2.

Re: so many problems

I have a 2011 Laredo X 4x4 (QTII) V6 that I've had just under 2 years with about 37k on it. I had some first year bugs that were solved with some software updates and both keyfobs failed but that all happened fairly early and during the first year. Now its been more than a year with no problems whatsoever. I'd buy another one in a heart beat and just might if I like what I see on the 14s.

Re: so many problems

Just turned 10K miles yesterday after having my GC for 7 months. Only problem I've had is the remote start not cooling (which looks like there is a fix now). Was I annoyed it didn't work correctly? Yeah a tad but it hasn't detracted from how much I love my Jeep.

Re: so many problems

I had a 2000 WJ Limited V8 bought new and kept it for 6 years and had no problems with it. Didn't like the exterior looks or the cheap looking interior on the WK, so I skipped that generation of Grand Cherokee.

As for my current 2012 Overland V8, I only have 4400 miles on my 12 Overland which will be a year old next week, but I have had no problems and have never been back to the dealer for anything. Even though the dealer offers a couple free oil changes a year, I do it myself.

I am waiting to see what the 2014 WK2 looks like and will probably update if I like it.

Re: so many problems

I had a 2007 GC that I bought used and only had 1 issue with it when I sold it, the front torsion bar brought when the dealer took it for a test drive when trading in. I also had a 2001 GC Laredo I6 brand new and finally sold it in 2008. The only problems I had with it was both window regulators went out, antenna started acting up, and the fan clutch went out. Other than that, I never had a problem with it.

After i sold the 2001, I vowed never to buy a jeep again. After 3yrs with my Trailblazer, I can't wait to get back to a Jeep...I miss it!

Re: so many problems

I can relate. My last car was a Tahoe and owned it for 10 years. The only thing I had to do was replace the tires and battery. With my new jeep I had it in Twice for minor issues with less than 3,000 miles and now at 5,000 the quad lift is malfunctioning.

On a positive note, so far no other problems . It looks and drives like new

you do realize that it's normal for the QL to self adjust at start-up if necessary.

Re: so many problems

I'm on my second 2012 JGC with the hemi. I put 15700 miles on the first with zero problems. I have 17300 miles on my current jeep and had one very minor problem- the automatic headlight sensor was replaced. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Re: so many problems

2010 GC Laredo sun and tow package (whatever the hell they call it). The only problem I've ever had is once or twice the Navigation had a little hiccup but I was able to just stop routing and then re-route and it was fine.
I have over 54K on it and it's as reliable and sturdy as my 2005 Toyota 4Runner was with more bells and whistles.
