Spare Tire Cover Handle
My Overland is 14 months old now. I store tow straps, electrical tape, duct tape and other seldom used, but desired, items in the bins around the spare tire. The only time I've gotten in there was last summer to get a tow strap to drag a fallen tree in my yard to a location where I could use the chain saw. Today, I picked up a new Leatherman which I thought would make a good addition to those items and I found my first fault on the vehicle. When I tried to raise the cover, the handle came completely off.
Looking at it, I could see that there had to be another part that held the cover to it. I found that wedged between the spare and the rear wall of the vechicle. It looks like one of the screws either backed out or was missing and the stress on the other broke the plastic screw housing. Should be an easy fix and nothing I can't live with, but I was just wondering if anyone else has run into something like this.
If this is the worst thing to go wrong with the vehicle, I'll be thrilled.
