Splash guard installation question...

Yes, I know this is the wrong forum, but I'd like to get an answer sooner than later so I can start driving me new Jeep!

Can anyone tell me how the plastic rivets in the front wheel liner come off? The one came off easy, the other one (with the small hole in the center), not so much. Either I'm dumb, or there's something wrong with the vehicle, but it's probably me:

I've posted pictures here: mud flaps on GC ?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

They are one time use only rivets. Cut and garbage.

Yep, slip a sharp chisel under them and give it a quick tap.

Re: Splash guard installation question...

Thanks guys. I could no longer access the rivet shroud with the pliers, so a more mechanically inclined family member suggested using a drill bit. Tried it and it worked right away.

Now my issue is with step 3 of the instructions, which don't seem to make any sense. Neither myself nor my more mechanically inclined family member can figure out where the nippled-clips go. Do they slide on the flaps, or does the nipple get inserted into the hole where the rivets were, or something else?

Thanks!

Re: Splash guard installation question...

It looks like they slide on where the rivets were so you can screw-in fastener "D"

Re: Splash guard installation question...

I was finally able to get them on. As per the other thread, the carpet / felt liner does indeed need to be pulled to the side in order to access those tabs.

The other flap went on in no time flat. Anyway, glad it's over with now!
