Have u looked at the rear view mirror piece? I had squeaking and it turned out to be that piece causing it.

It's coming from the drive side dash area. It's going back in next week for a second time to see if they can find the issue.

another weird issue is a clicking sound coming from the rear cargo area. Sounds like something is dripping or clicking. Even when the vehicle is stationary.

Again trying to listen its coming from firewall/strut area. I wonder almost if its the body mount or perhaps just a bushing squeaking in the upper suspension. I only hear it when theres a bump or if im at a speed where I have a vibration which is at 72 mph.

If you find it, I have a few bucks in my paypal account with your name on it!

Ditto! Mine will do it as well with hwy vibration around 70-75. plan to tear into it shortly and test some ideas. sounds like it is coming from the corner of where dash meets windshield area but definitely under or inside dash area.

Re: Squeak In Dash ( driving me nuts)

I have tried stuffing foam in all the corners and towels. I have taken the pillar right off and it still happens. It seems to be the more frequent when it's cold outside.

Bringing it in tomorrow I am hoping to they find it but I won't be surprised if they say we didn't hear. As its in frequent some days are worst then others

Re: Squeak In Dash ( driving me nuts)

Does it happen when it rains? I had a squeak on my old Stratus that seemed to becoming from the dash. After a trip to the dealer where the proceeded to break interior trim, the noise was still there. Turns out it was the rear off the rubbing on the rubber weatherstrip on the cowl.

Had a rattle coming from the dash it seemed on my 14 Limited CRD GC. Went on for months. Ended up being the fire-shield on the engine bulkhead near the turbo had not been attached properly.

Yeah its hard to place but its defiantly in that corner. I cant point if its inside or out. It always sounds like its at the cowl. I try to man handle everything there to get it to replicate. But if I shove the cruise at 72-74 mph itll squeak and make noise or a bump at low speeds say less than 20. Find it, I will send you dollars!

it's not a rattle or clunk, it is a squeak sound. It happens over bumps and sometimes is worse in the morning oddly enough. if i do sharp turns sometimes it does it squeak.

Yesterday i pulled the driver side pillar off and seemed like nothing I touched would make that squeak. Reinstalled and sound went away for a day. It's back again and I thought let me try removing the plastic pillar again. Still sound remains.

I do have warranty still but I know the dealer will just bark at the idea of dash squeak and think i am just being to anal about noises.

Any one else have a squeak sound coming from the drivers side dash area. I have tried holding the cluster over bumps and the dash part which covers the centre speaker and the sound still happens,

Thanks in Advance,
I had this squeak in my '14 jeep Grand Cherokee, it was the chrome trime around the instrument cluster at the very top in center, was worse in cold (maybe the plastic expands slightly when warmer??) At times got very loud, and was definitly annoying but with a small spot of loctite super glue all is good :-)

I wish it were that easy with mine. Mine is clearly deep under the dash or at the base of the pillar where the pillar, dash, and windshield meet. As williamss stated, I can't replicate it when applying pressure in any area which makes it difficult to locate the exact location.

Re: Squeak In Dash ( driving me nuts)

Brought it to the dealer of course it was pouring rain so they couldn't hear it.

It was doing it this morning so I stopped in and the tech and I went for a drive.

He thinks it's a metal sound and wants to replace the entire steering column to start. Since the sound happens if you turn the wheel drastically.

Will update as I progress. At least now they have heard it for them selves.

Re: Squeak In Dash ( driving me nuts)

If that does do it, it will not actually prove the solution. As they will be moving and adjusting many things to get to the column they may accidentally fix what was loose to start with.
