Honestly i think that is why they are going to replace it, the mechanic has no idea where it's coming from. So they said lets first try replacing that to start and hope that cures the issue.

Re: Squeak In Dash ( driving me nuts)

Well the dealership just called me, after the replaced the steering column the issue is still there. I told them when I dropped it off that wasn't going to fix the issue!. So they are keeping the vehicle for another day to try some other fixes.

I think it's the metal mount which holds the computer which is under the dash.

Will keep everyone updated, and hopefully they find the source of this annoying sound so everyone else can apply the remedy fix!

That's correct, it's going back in Monday. I gave them approval for the tech to take it home. I basically told them don't give me the car back if it's fixed.

So I will have rental Durango for the week.

I know it's hard to find as I have spent a few hours removing all the shroud and pieces around the dash and still couldn't source the issue.

But it's a noise I cannot live with.

Its getting to the point as it seems to be getting worse that I will be trading it in based on that stupid noise alone! Thanks for the update I hope you get results.

Honestly I feel the same way. I dropped it off this past Monday haven't heard back as of yet. I have a rental 2015 JC for the time being. Hopefully they don't give me the same song and dance that they fixed it and ten minutes of driving it reappears.

My warranty list under my vin is now 3 pages long 😐 saw the print out

Re: Squeak In Dash ( driving me nuts)

RESOLVED!!!

Well I am happy to say the issue has been gone for a day so far so good! After $3500.00 in warranty work it ended up being very simple.

The issue was the rubber stops underneath the hood. There are two rubber hood adjusters that needed to be adjusted and they applied some grease on the tops!

Well hopefully this helps out other Jeep owners.

The ones at the front of the hood that adjust how high the hood sits compared to the fenders?

I don't think grease is the correct solution Ill try some felt pads where the hood hits them to start. I hope its it and not something found by accident. Thanks for keeping them on it till they found it.
