squealing noise

So today on may way home from work the breaks started squealing bad. When pressing the brakes sounded like the cable and spring were about five years old. After about five miles they both returned to normal. '12 overland with 8K; anyone ever have this issue before?

Re: squealing noise

Possibly some crud on the rotor.

I'm not sure what you mean by "cable and spring".

Re: squealing noise

Sounds like contamination. Run it through a car wash that can wash the under carriage. No one does that anymore and that's why rust has been eating brake lines and other components.

Re: squealing noise

Sorry the spring tension. I washed her after sandy left; hopefully it goes away but I'll try that again before going to the dealership

Re: squealing noise

Still don't know what you mean by "spring tension". Brakes are hydraulic disc, not rotors.
