we have 3 2014 altitudes in the family and all 3 have staples. Its a jeep thing.

At least use stainless steel staples that won't be showing signs of rust before the owner takes delivery.

straight from a lead engineer on the wk2

"The staples are used in the painting process to apply an electrostatic charge the part. There is no harm in removing them. The SRT Flares were designed with a couple tabs that hold the staples and is cut off after painting."

This makes sense, but what about the staples that I have seen in unpainted flares?

Maybe they were placed by mistake. Who knows...
