Start Engine button sticking... or not? - 2011 GC
Strangest thing happened to me on my 'normal' start to the day... I apply my brake, press the Start Engine button and the starter just keeps turning over the engine and that Pentstar is not even thinking of kicking in. I figured at first it was my Start Engine button sticking so tried to pop off the cap and see if that would unstick it and stop engine from turning over. In the meantime the starter finally stops and engine is no longer trying to start. A few warning messages cycle through the EVIC display with one saying to deal with suspension. Strange.
I press the Engine Start button to cycle to Off and then start the whole process over again (a bit worried I was going to go through same thing again) and it starts as normal. No messages and nothing out of the ordinary. I am pretty sure it was not a stuck Engine Start button since the engine was not even sounding as if it was getting spark and wanting to start, just a lot of turnover. So, I am left with the assumption this was just a computer glitch and all has now reset itself.
I am just wondering if anyone else has had a similar occurance and perhaps it was a while back and maybe there were follow on consequences that then started showing up afterwards. I just want to know if this is the start of something more and perhaps any preventative measures I can consider.
