How do you remove the start/stop button? i searched the forum and couldn't find a thread with directions. i tried twisting it left and right and it wouldn't come out.

Pry it off with a blade or screwdriver at the bottom.

It pulls off with your fingers...

Re: Start/ Stop button removal?

You should be able to get it out with your fingers (not twisting but prying). However, if that does not work for you, I keep a small plastic spoon in the center console. The main thing is that you do not want to scratch or damage the wood trim that surrounds the Start/Stop button. The white or clear plastic spoons that you get with a fast food meal will do the trick. The rounded front lip of the plastic spoon is an almost perfect fit for the space between the button and the trim.

Re: Start/ Stop button removal?

I recommend a hammer, grey duct tape, 10ft of 10-2 electrical wire, a shop vac and a cup of chololate jello pudding! .

Or you can do what others suggest and pry it off with a small screw driver!

Re: Start/ Stop button removal?

Or use the car key that pops out of the remote. Probably even easier than having to go and get a spoon.

Re: Start/ Stop button removal?

I'm going to try removing the start/stop button my Jeep as well. My battery died and had to be recharged and I want to make sure that this vehicle is starting and stopping properly. I think that it is also a good idea to have some spare 2032 FOB batteries on hand just in case if they die.
