Starter Button Rattle

We are experiencing a rattle sound that was determined to be coming from the starter button. We were told that this was normal, what. I just bought a 55k 2014 GC Summit and your telling me that my push start button is supposed to make a rattle noise. Why don't they just replace the darn thing so I don't have to listen to it.

Is anyone else having this issue? Funny thing is, my new 2013 Kia SX-L Turbo Optima has push button start and I don't here any rattle noises anywhere, nothing, nadda, absolutely perfectly quiet. Can't believe they would tell me that its normal for the starter button to rattle.

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy and like my 2014 GCS, but when you pay almost 10k more, I expect a solid tight vehicle. Depending on what others are experiencing and dong about it , I just might request that it be replaced.

Re: Starter Button Rattle

id request a change if the dealer confirmed that was the part causing the noise. if they said un able to re create on the paper work and told you that it was normal than your out of luck. you need to have them acknowledge that there is a part that is making the noise and if they don't replace it call Chrysler care.

Re: Starter Button Rattle

I assume it is the dealership service tech telling you the rattle is normal? If so, have them take you out in several similar new models on the lot and demonstrate this.

Re: Starter Button Rattle

they did confirmed it on the paper work, that's why I thought is was strange not to order another one and replace it. I don't want to hear a rattle periodically, I don't want to hear one at all.

Re: Starter Button Rattle

Did you ever find out anything about this? Our starter on our 2014 Summit is doing the same thing. The starter is buzzing. It does it mostly when it's cold out. It almost sounds like an electrical buzzing/mis-fire. Did you ever get a Jeep service department to fix it? It's ANNOYING!! And can be heard even over the radio. The service dept said it's normal here too but I don't think they even heard it.

Re: Starter Button Rattle

Went off road with my m14 laredo over the weekend. Start button started to produce a very noticeable rattle when on bumpy ground. At the moment it doesnt do it when on standard road surface. But will make a note of it and see if I can get it fixed/replaced
