Re: Steaming Jeep

Same here. It would seem logical that when the coolant temp is higher than 212 degrees that any water that comes in contact with the radiator is converted into steam with a high degree of efficiency.

Re: Steaming Jeep

This is my 5th Jeep and this is the only one I ever noticed the steam. No worries now that other people have the same thing happening.

Just took her thru a car wash today to rinse the salt off and it was steaming pretty good from under the hood-----went away in a few minutes.

I respectfully (since your avatar ship is bigger than mine) suggest that the radiator need not be at boiling temperature for this to occur if the weather is cold and relative humidity is high. Remember "making smoke" with your breath in the winter when you were a kid?

Re: Steaming Jeep

My 2012 V8 WK2 seems to get hotter around the engine area then any other vehicle I've driven or owned.

After driving for 1/2 hour or more, I can feel the heat upon exiting the vehicle.

Lets not get steam and fog confused. Both are visible forms of water vapor, but for entirely different reasons.

Did you ever get an answer to this? My jeep does the same thing when it's cold

Re: Steaming Jeep

This is my first Hemi with the dual exhaust and have noticed when it's cold the exhaust comes back at the rear window so much that I can't see out of it when I step on it. Not related to your question but I thought I would mention it and yes when I come out of the car wash I see steam coming from the front. No big deal...
