Steering wheel not straight after alignment

Hoping someone could help me here and maybe save a trip back to the dealer. I had a four wheel alignment done a week ago and during my holiday road trip I noticed that the steering wheel is off maybe 5-10 degrees. I know it is not much but quite annoying as it seems more than that depending on the road.

The dealer first told me it was the road I was on, but that is definitely not it. I found some online chats discussing adjusting the steering yourself. I hate to run back to the dealer if this is relatively easy to do. They have offered to drop it off for the day, but assuming they do not need to do the entire alignment again from what I read online.

Thanks

Re: Steering wheel not straight after alignment

It's easy if you're an alignment technician. Take it back and get it done right.

Re: Steering wheel not straight after alignment

Before starting an alignment they are supposed to lock the steering wheel so it is straight. If the wheel was crooked, then they need to start from step one to do it right. However, I have heard it has become somewhat common to remove and reset the steering wheel.

Either way it is worth the trip to the dealer.

Re: Steering wheel not straight after alignment

Take it back. The tech made a mistake or either didn't care. Don't make the problem worse.
