Steering Wheel Resistance / Friction

Not sure how else to describe it, and whether or not I'm going crazy. It seems that over time, my steering wheel is becoming less "smooth".

When I'm driving and turning, I can feel a slight "resistance" or "friction" in the steering wheel. It only happens sometimes, though.

I have not yet checked the Power Steering fluid, so maybe it is low. I know of this TSB: http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1900411.pdf But I'm not sure if that is the same thing as what I am feeling.

Any thoughts? Anyone else feeling the same thing? When you are driving, is your steering wheel 100% smooth when turning. I'm not saying it is a huge difference, but do you feel minor points in your turn radius where it feels... not 100% smooth?

Re: Steering Wheel Resistance / Friction

Check underneath for a leaky boot, and check the fluid. I have a leaky boot -- which I plan to make an appt. for soon.

Do you have any "resistance" in your steering wheel?
