Steering Wheel Thud

Hey Guys,

I have a 2011 Laredo 4x4.

So I set up a service appointment online to get my first oil change and also wrote in the message:

Experiencing a shudder when coasting at around 40mph and need to accelerate to merge on to a highway. Sometimes notice that I need to use the pedal more to get up to highway speed. Something just doesn't seem to be shifting right. Also experiencing a jerking shudder feeling when moving at low speeds, in traffic for example. I usually feel it through the steering wheel as well. If I gas coast then gas a again (gentle gas at 5 - 20mph) there is a clunking sound from the front end. And I also feel it through the steering wheel. Please take a look. Thanks.

They sent me back a confirmation with the services I will be getting. Listed below:

20JEZZ TRANSAXLE
01JEZ MULTI-POINT INSP

Wanted to know what the Transaxle service was for, and if it will fix my issues. My issues sound alot like what alot of you are experiencing. I also printed out the 18-012-11 TSB and highlighted the symptoms I was experiencing. I am going to the dealer this Thursday.

I will update you all on the results.

Thanks.

Re: Steering Wheel Thud

Just got back from the dealer.

There were updates for the TCM and PCM that needed to be done.

Problem solved. Put through a good test drive after and it is like a new car...no jerking or knocking during shifts or while driving slow (in traffic)....

Re: Steering Wheel Thud

What was your build date? I also have the Laredo 4x4 and have been experiencing the same issues. Was it easy for you to get service to perform the updates?
