Thanks brandnewslacker!
I've been driving for years on the beaches, I've had a F150, and even a ford escape and never had any problems. I'll try it in 4wd hi and hope for the best.

We don't really have a 4wd hi. High range is a permanent awd with traction control all round.

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

Got mine done today. Was in and out in an hour. The dealer also updated every other module in the Jeep and applied all other outstanding TSBs too while I was there.

Thought that was great!

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

Just curious.. my jeep is being delivered tomorrow... do dealers generally apply all TSB's before delivering? or should i take it back in for this or other fixes? (trying to find a list of items known to need repairing)

I'm with you. Mine should be getting delivered in a couple of weeks (according to dealer?) but need to know if i will need to have the dealer update it before i drive it off the lot or if its all up to date?

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

Taking my Jeep to the dealer in a few minutes to get all TSB's applied and pick up tomorrow. Not sure if the newest one that fixes the sand issue applies to mine (2013 Overland V8) or not. The wife and I are heading out to OBX (Outer Banks) beaches in North Carolina this weekend and want to go drive in some dang sand!!! Hopefully no Jeeps (mine) gets stuck.

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

Ok. So just got the call. TSB (21-003-13) was performed last night. I should be good to go. I'll post pics of the Jeep on the beach this weekend.

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

I'm taking mine this Friday to get the TSB done because I too will be heading OBX this Sunday and don't want any issues in the sand. Hopefully it works!

Re: STUCK IN SAND with 4WD malfunction

Was on the beach multiple times on Saturday and received no errors. I was in both Auto and Sand/Mud modes. I never went into 4WD Low. I had dropped my psi to 18 in all 4 tires (stock 20" rims/tires). It handled great in the sand!! I'll post pics later.
