Re: Sun Visor Recall

Had mine done with the brake booster recall.

All they do is add a plastic spacer to make sure that there is no rubbing of the electrical wiring.

Re: Sun Visor Recall

Is anyone being told it takes months to get the parts in to do the sun visor and the brake booster recalls? My dealer has me waiting months at this point. Just wondering if this is normal.

Re: Sun Visor Recall

Didn't have to wait for either. Got appointments within a week of calling. Both went fine. No issues.

Re: Sun Visor Recall

I was initially told that I was number 86 on the waiting list for parts at my dealership but was pleasantly surprised when I received a call a few weeks later that parts were in.

Re: Sun Visor Recall

Anyone know what they do to fix it? I had it done about a month or so ago, but haven't been driving the Jeep a lot lately. This past weekend I was driving and now I have something vibration/rattle when just cruising. It is coming from the roof and possibly behind me. Also, I did notice when I picked up the Jeep, that the roof cover trim piece in the back had a bunch of white stuff on it. I am wondering if they had to pull that piece off and that is where the vibration/rattle is coming from. So I can't pinpoint whether or not it happened during the fix or it is just something that just comes with time. Its just frustrating because I haven't had any vibrations or rattles in the 2 1/2 years of ownership.

Re: Sun Visor Recall

I had mine done about a week ago. I didn't realize they have to take so much of the interior apart and put back together again! I better carefully inspect the interior. If I had known the extent of the repair, not sure I would have had this recall done!

Re: Sun Visor Recall

That's exactly why I declined the sun visor recall.

In reality they don't blow up the interior, they just open up that corner. Mine went quick and easy. I am a very picky person and, with neat service techs, I would not hold off if you are worried about a disaster, FWIW.

Did not want them ripping down my liner so I declined to have this done too.
