There is no reason for you to post a comment, since this issue doesn't affect you, because you are trading in your Jeep in May. So, why are you commenting on it, other than you want to rub it in that you are getting rid of it?

Who put you in charge of who can or cannot post?

Calm yourself down, son. You're making yourself look awfully childish.

Re: Sun Visor Recall...AGAIN?

The fact it is going to be a year (at least) before a fix makes me want to disconnect the visor power altogether. I can't even think of how much it would cost me if it burned down the garage. Guess it's time to up the insurance

Re: Sun Visor Recall...AGAIN?

I genuinely hope no one has a fire. Although I'm wondering how much it would actually cost for me to replace mine if the visor ignites. I just got a nail in my tire (on the outside edge) and was thanking my lucky stars that I got the road hazard warranty. It still cost me $59.00 to pay for installation, balance and disposal. I guess that's normal practice (is it?) but I wasn't expecting it. Things have been tight lately and with 43K miles on my 14 I would like to get a new one in 17. Wonder if FCA would squirm enough to make that an SRT flavored 17???

That old boy musta gone off and beat his wife or sobered up? He's been quiet. Still uncalled for and his comments should be removed.

It's not replacing the Jeep that worries me. It's the motorcycles (and the garage too)

Re: Sun Visor Recall...AGAIN?

I've got a Laredo with no sunroof, and the procedure looks pretty simple. I don't think we have ever used the vanity lights (and the map light will do if need be), so I'm considering cutting the wires to the lamps and make it a permanent fix. The question is, how could I permanently and safely insulate the cut wires in the headliner? I was thinking I would separate the wires and put crimp caps on each side (positive and negative). I could use a similar glue that they used for the TIPM splices, if I can find it. It should be able to take the heat of the sun. Anyone done something similar?

Or even better, does anyone know where the upstream connection to these wires reside? I can cut it there or just pull them out.

Re: Sun Visor Recall...AGAIN?

Just cutting them off at the lamps and capping them is not a good solution since the wires can still rub inside the headliner and short out.
