Hmmmmm, never occurred to me that a sunroof could just explode, the biggest plus(other than winning your money back) is no one was hurt.Has me concerned as my '11 has a pano roof.Never had issues with it and use it frequently, but will eye it with caution in future.
Doing what another on this thread mentioned,I did read and was shocked there have been so many sunroof issues from many different car manufacturers. From incorrect install in manufacture process to flawed glass.i noted that on pano roofs that if the frame is mounted incorrectly it's a ticking bomb just waiting to go off.Others noted, especially on standard sunroofs(whatever "standard" means) the fault invariably is in "tension" or "contact points" of frame to glass or frame to body causing "high tensile vibration"(who writes these terms?wouldnt lay mans words be better for owners?),that results in an "inevitable terminal glass failure".
Now I have a headache reading various web pages, just glad my sunroof is in one piece.
Think I will keep a golf ball in my car and blame it on my local golf club!!!
I AM JOKING about the local golf club,so please ,no nasty comments!
