I have a 2011 overland with QL. I have just noticed that I get a groan/creaking sound from the right front suspension area when I am making a slow, hard right hand turn such as in a parking lot. I took it to the dealer today and he is stumped. The vehicle has 10K miles. Has anyone had a similar problem or can suggest a cause? Could this be a drivetrain issue instead of suspension?

I have had a similar creeking sound, but it has not been happening consistently. Recently, I have not heard it so I am not worried about it. Some of these gremlins seem to come and go.
Just recently, I have heard what seems to be a metalic tapping sound at highway speeds above 55 mph (maybe something loose underneath?). I don't think it is coming from the engine (HEMI) so it is probably not "pinging." The JEEP is going for an oil change soon so I have them take it for a test drive.
Im having exactly the same problem Troy! I just came on here to find out if anyone else had the same hoping for an answer. Im going to book mine into the dealer within next couple of weeks for them to have a look. In the meantime id be interested to know if you figure anything out.
Mine did the creak noise a few times when brand new, but it was likely just the silicone lube on the sway bar bushings. After about 2000 miles the occasional creak noise went away, probably as the bushing "broke in". The creaking may be more prevalent in colder weather and could also just be a bushing that was not quite to spec.
Mine does this as well. 2011 Laredo X V6 w/ Quadra Lift. I have 14,000 miles currently.
I originally started hearing this on the right front when making turns or even on front end rise from acceleration.
I mentioned it to the dealer and they said they'd take a look at the next service. Between then I noticed some greasing coming out of the driver's front outer CV boot.
I thought this might be the culprit. Took it to the dealer and they replaced the whole front driver's axle.
Didn't hear the creak/moan. Thought it was solved.
Nope. Moan/creak is back, but this time it sounds more from the passenger front.
I haven't checked the cv boots over there, but I'm going in tomorrow for oil change and tire rotation so I'll have them check.
I also started to hear this in the rear as well... so we'll see what happens at the dealer tomorrow.
As far as the sound being more apparent in cold weather... possibly but not sure. I thought I heard this is the summer as well.
We are talking about the quadra-lift air suspension... so no springs.
Back from the dealer...
Dealer sez....... can't hear / can't duplicate.
I'm pretty tire of dealing with a dealer that is not top notch, so I don't even feel the need to take one of their mechanics on a drive to show them.
I'm sure there are threads on here discussing Chrysler/Jeep dealer service versus higher customer satisfying (Acura, Audi, BMW, Lexus, Merc... etc..).
I would hope part of their growing/fixing business plan is to satisfy service customers better.
Yes, perhaps it is just the poor independent dealer network in place currently...
Anyway, I should stop rabbling and I'll just cross my fingers for no real serious issues. In warranty or not.
So if someone finds a root cause or some potential ones to check out... please post back in this thread.
I started this thread with complaints about a creaking noise when making a right turn in a parking lot. I left my jeep at Williamsburg Jeep today and Frank, my mechanic, solved the problem. He told me that this problem had been filed with Chrysler for 100 jeeps with only one case being corrected by replacement of the driver's side lower control arm.
That was not the solution. He found dirt in the driver's side sway bar bushing between the sway bar and bushing. He cleaned and lubricated both bushings with grease and the noise is gone.
I have had a creeking noise coming from the passenger rear suspension. It started the second day we had the Jeep. It happened anytime there was any suspenions articulation at that corner, usually at low speeds like backing down our driveway. Brought it back a few days later and they mentioned that one of the suspension linkage bolts wasn't tight. They torqued to spec and it went away. Well, now some months later the same noise is back. I'm going to pick it back up from the dealer right now. According to them, they are replacing the shock and mounting bracket at that corner. It's currently backordered but they assured me it's not a safety issue. None the less, sooo annoying on a brand new vehicle to have to go back and deal with this multiple times.
