Re: Suspension shudder

They replaced the front left shock. There was a leak on it. They flushed all the nitrogen and refilled it. Jeep keeps its height now and raise/lower faster. However..there is still a bouncing issue. They said they couldnt find anything and that it was normal!! That cant be normal. I will ask them to come with me for a ride. Going over a bridge is where you can really feel the issue. Stay tuned

Thank you for your feedback. I am surprised that the bouncing is still there. I was reading that the sway bar can sometimes cause this issue. I am planning to disconnect the links on my sway bar and take it for a drive and see what happens.

Re: Suspension shudder

well... I took the tech for a ride and showed him the shudder. He agreed it was not normal. Being lost, he said it must my tires. WTF ?!?!?!?! why would tires do this? So just to prove him wrong, i will install my winter tires. They do replace the front shock, but with a used shock. I was shocked when I saw this. They put used part on my jeep.

My feeling is still the same, I think both front shocks absorber are having issues.

stay tuned .. more to come

Re: Suspension shudder

Winter tires on and problem is still there. I jacked up the jeep to look under the car...didnt find any loose bushing. I 95% sure the 2 front shocks are bad and need replacement. They replaced left side with a used one and I guess its a bad used

I removed my 20in wheels and put on 18in wheels, i still get the hollow bouncy noise, the interesting thing is, it seems to emanate from the left front side. still have not removed the sway bar links. I am thinking about trading mine in for something else. i will give it another few months, its due for it service soon, so i will let the service center know about my concerns and see what they tell me. What i do not get it, my MY14 does it and the shocks are not bad. i am bemused.

Re: Suspension shudder

Im bringing it to the dealer once again today. They have another 2012 overland with air suspension. I did the manual bounce test on both mine and their jeep. Mine is boucing very when push on the front bumper...while theirs is stiff and perfect. That explains a lot. The strut is gone..

Re: Suspension shudder

Good luck to you, I hope it sorts out the bouncing issue. They should have put new shocks to begin with. Those suckers are damn expensive, I just had a look.

Re: Suspension shudder

So, I was talking to my brother over the weekend. He is an auto tech works on Range/Land Rovers. Nothing to do with Jeep but Land/Range rover are doing a recall for 2014/2015 Rovers for the control arm bushing filled with silicon. Guess what, they make the same shuddering, bouncing sound.

He sat in my Jeep, we went for a drive and he told me a few things to do. First, attempt an emergency hard braking. Did that and i got a knock from the front end. Straight away he told me the control arm is the cause and possiblly what is the root of the problem. Then we drove over some speed bumps are we got a knock, he suspects control arm is the problem.

I will be calling the service center to make a booking

. And by the way here is a link, for a very pissed off Jeep owner down under. He is from Queensland, Australia.

Destroy My Jeep™ | enjoy!!!!!.

Sway bar links on mine will be replaced, apparently that's what's causing the noise. 13k miles on my 2014 Jeep GC and sway bar links have crapped out.
