Swapping out Front Headrest 2014

I am looking to swap out my front headrest to install monitor headrest. Was all ready to go for this since I have lock pick installed on the RA4 radio with extra wires ran to accommodate the headrest monitors. Followed directions to take off the headrest but then I ran into the AHR connection (pictures below) Active Headrest Restraints I didn't even know the Jeeps had these. I am looking to permanently switch out these headrest with the ones I bought.

Anyway to swap out these headrest and not run into any problems with the airbags? Has anyone done this before?

Thanks for the help!

I did the same thing and had a problem. U cannot detach as its ACTIVE. that's what also a Chrysler tech told me and was unable to return as I had custom headrest matching my red interior. If you find out what to do please tell me.

Re: Swapping out Front Headrest 2014

The AHR saved me from ANY whiplash when I was rear ended this spring in my EcoDiesel. Based on that one scenario I'm sold on their benefits.

I did this, although it's not the best solution it worked and you keep your factory headrest
.Alternative to Chrysler's Rear DVD system

Thanks going to check those out. Nice pictures as well. Why do you have one wire going through the headrest and one going on the outside?

Shouldn't one wire control both the power/video?

thanks, yeah I don't think I am going to mess with that and keep them and find another option to make it work.

Yes there is only one wire from each device. I ran each wire in the heard rest slot and connected them together under the seat. There are no wires showing on the outside of the seat.

thanks just looked closer at the pictures, it's your seat detail with the Black i got confused.

Sweet setup, thanks again for your help.

Going to hook these up to my lockpick, I have RCA cables underneath the seat already, this will allow me to play anything off my iphone directly to the headrest seats

yes in the lockpick settings you can send the Video to the RCA out and if everything is setup properly will display. Will test once headrests arrive. But I did test with an 20" tv 6 months ago and worked
