Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

<<UPDATE>> Like silver posted the Chrysler/Dealer is replacing the entire Head Unit !!!
8PM EST 04/24/2013

Question for Silver : are you in DC metro area by any chance ?

Symptoms :

"Phone Requires Service Message pops up"
"GPS Unit showing wrong location on NAV"
"Compass pointing in the wrong direction"

Am beginning to think could have saved 3K by not getting the freaking UConnect with Nav.
Not that the Nav was very useful or responsive even when working ..

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

PROBLEMS:
- I definitely had a problem with UCONNECT remembering the choices - when clicking the boxes the check mark would disappear after a few seconds
- I did not hear chimes for anything.
- SD card sometimes is not recognized within the first 10 seconds - I get a message but always recognizes it. Sometimes instantaneous, sometimes delayed.
- Headlight condensation (getting smaller)
- Auto wipers
A car reboot (restart) did it and so far everything is working correctly apart from the SD card recognition at times.

NOT TESTED:
- any USB ports
- any power outlets 115V or 12 V
- fuel cap door
- Quadra-Trac II settings

TESTED AND WORKING FINE:
- Quadra Lift
- UCONN Navi (even recognizes my slight accent...most of the time)
- Phone pairing (HTC HD7 windows 7.8)
- Bluetooth streaming
- SD card music
- the dashboard screen settings
- FWD Collision Warning with Active Braking (managed to trigger it)
- Adaptive Cruise Control (now I get slightly confused on how I activate it because the car has 2 cruise control modes. As such I am not going to call it a glitch because when engaged, it works correctly but engaging it is either glitchy or not straight forward to me. I will blame me first)
- headlights with auto high beam

That's it for now.

@ Silver did you have compass and GPS offset as well (as in it would show like miles off and opposite directions ?)

Well we are still having the same problems with the media center not working and now the radio has a 10 second delay before it changes volume or stations. My dealership and Chrysler have been emailing each other...Today I demanded they talk on the phone to get this sorted! The dealerships sees that things are not right but when it's hooked up to their pc they can't find a problem. Were gonna try this again in the morning but my patience are running very thin!

For years I swore I would never own another Chrysler but all the new models look so tempting and now I own two....One day I will learn!

Granted I won't be purchasing until the fall (when my lease is up and praying that all issues have been resolved) but the more issues I read on here and how some issues are common to a number of members on this forum, the more weary I am of purchasing a domestic that I am quietly researching other SUVs that don't look like a wagon (A CPO Acura MDX looking good as well as CX9, Pathfinder... )

ETA: I have to admit however, none of these other "SUV's" are as attractive inside-out as a MY14 JGC

Don't count on the issues being resolved, this same system has been having problems in the 2013 Rams and there has been no improvements!

There seem to be a fair bit of UConnect issues from what I have read. Im hoping they'll be clared up before I take delivery.

Thumbs down Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

Had my 2014 for just over a week now. Spent the last three days at the dealer after the check engine light came on 104 miles.

Had my 2014 for just over a week now. Spent the last three days at the dealer after the check engine light came on 104 miles. Dealer claimed it was a ungrounded wire.
U nconnect registration won't work. (4 hrs spent on phone with assist)
Unconnect screen will restart (go back to jeep screen) every 10 or 15 min.
Memory seats don't work.
weel off center, pulls to right, needs to be aligned, dealer said it's aligned from the factory and refuses to do it
i phone 5 won't pair with bluetooth.
I understand it's the first model year with all these new features, however Chrysler needs to do a little better QA/QC.

OMG...one of the worst dealership excusses I've heard for not fixing something. Chrysler would reimburse them for the alignment for God's sake!

Once all your problems with your Jeep are fixed at this dealership, call up and complain to Chrysler Customer Service about how you were treated, then find a new dealership for future warranty work.
