I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission
After I saw your post I was hyped to fix my truck today; however i just followed your "reset" procedure step by step and still get the 2nd to 1st downshift bump. I will visit my dealer this weekend. I talked to the salesperson over the phone and his comment was that this bump is normal in all 2014 GC....

When I got my Jeep back for the third time from the dealer, the bump was completely gone. I didn't know if they had reset anything, updated software, or maybe the 150 miles they put on it made the difference as it was breaking in. Whatever the case, it had turned smooth as silk. It is definitely not "normal."

No problems so far. Previous '01 JGC Ltd, V8, was stolen. Needed new toad for diesel pusher RV; left home for summer travels with ~450 miles on it, towed it 744 miles. Now driven 690 miles & it has performed flawlessly. Both as a toad & touring car, we're very impressed with the electronics, ride, fuel mileage & drivability. Dealer said not necessary to register with uConnect - so did not; nav, remote start, paired smartphone, verbal commands, all work. We love it!

Went to the dealer today and was pleasantly surprised when the salesman stated that he had another complaint on the same transmission downshift bump issue from another client and that the repair tech said Jeep already advised about doing a reflash to fix the problem. I'm taking mine in on Monday. I also noted that I don't get any downshift bump when using the transmission in sport mode.

Purchased Limited CRD 25/07/2013 only travelled 80km air-conditoning erratic with hot air from one side cold the other then the u-connect failed with blank screen and was unable to reset. The headlights have also come on in daylight when selected to Auto. Returned it to the dealers on the 30/08/2013 and advised also about the engine vibration and rough idle. It's been at the dealers since, now 27 days, still with no fix date, awaiting updates and parts from the USA. I would not say this vehicle is Free of problems.

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

After 700 miles the hose to my power steering pump just fell off and I had to have my truck towed. Thank god it happened in a parking lot and not on the parkway going 70mph. This is the second time it has been in for service. The other time was for the instrument cluster behind the wheel failing. It is ok now except the one mph reading with the needle, I have the needle but no numbers to show how fast I am going. I will post a pic of it when I get my Jeep back.

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

Have I had little annoying uconnect issues - yes. Have I had any breakdowns or operational issues - no. My recent issue is my 4x4 module blew. The service four wheel drive system message came up - along with the car disabling cruise - and - traction control - apparently the car cannot provide those functions reliably without the 4 wheel drive system. The part was ordered - it came in today - appt with dealer tomorrow - will report back if anything weird happens.

Oh yeah - I lose my radio settings and get the service veicle phone message now and then. Im on 13.19... Im not replacing teh radio for a while. And oh yeah I have the remote start climate control issue Dealer is clueless. Dealer tells me that - NOBODY has any issues. I guess the members of this board arent a good sample size think not. Its amazing how people accept 'problems' as normal operations.... Eitehr that or the dealer is lying.

Almost 5000 miles and still no problems.

Seems like the Laredos and the 3.6's have less problems.
