Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

UConnect registration problems - resolved after 3 days, reload of headunit, water in drivers side tail light assembly (new light ordered), fender wheel rivets missing (dealer replaced) and the Uconnect won't maintain settings (heated seats, daytime running lights etc).

I am SHOCKED there are Paint Issues. That was more common 20 years ago, but didn't think it was still a problem ?!

Everytime I get up the nerve to go place my order for a Summit, I read more of these posts and get scared away for a few more days !!

How the Hell can a Liftgate not be Centered and Water in the Lights for $40k to $50k ?!

I give you guys credit for "living" with all these flaws in your "New" jeeps (regardless if the Dealer is fixing them or not) as I would be freaking out by now with any one of them, nevermind 10 of them !!

In my business we'd trace the QC issues back to find out who the 'inspectors' were and fire their asses. Needless to say we don't have the UAW to deal with. Maybe the beer and pot head guys were put on QC duty.

Beski.... I understand what you are saying but thats 10 on this forum... but think of how many are on the road that probably arent members here and are problem free. As for the liftgate alignment thing thats a robot doing its job. MY 2012 GC has a misaligned door and I still have yet to get it fixed. I hate going to the dealership because I know it will be there two days. I've recently just noticed that my headliner seems to be too short on the drivers rear passenger side, but its all good. Jeeps are great vehicles this is my second one. I do understand what you are saying... whether its the Laredo E 4x4 starting at 34k or the high end Summit starting at 52k neither one of these vehicles should have issues. It's life though nothing is perfect. I just call it character.

Major rattle in steering wheel column that was fixed by dealer. Also Unconnect forgets my settings like auto climate control and syncing both sides. This is not fixed yet.

I disagree. All about sampling and math. How many people on the road, NOT members of this forum and have issues? Percentage wise? Probably as much as people on this forum, on the road that are having issues. Just to many...

Both of our statements are true. I will say this. I think this was a rushed "refresh" hence some of the problems we are seeing, but we all knew there could be issues. As a whole though, the 14's interior is great and there will be bumps, it just comes with the territory.

My vehicle has developed a rattle in the sunroof and buzz under dash (1500 RPM) that are annoyances I will have corrected by the dealer. Uconnect overall has been good (aside from no apps in the store). Still very happy with the purchase.

I hear ya. I understand that there is no perfect system but Detroit has been painting cars for over a century. You would think these paint issues would be a rare, rare exception.

In some respects it's harder to get a perfectly painted car today. Back when we had multiple layers of lacquer you could sand and polish and blend any blemish away. Today, with much thinner paint and clear coat, it's almost what you see is what you get. And while they may have a clean room standard, it is pretty hard to maintain with the production capacity todays plants push out.

They did a very good job with the paint chip on my bumper. But even with that, the shop owner said if I wasn't happy he would pull the bumper and clear the whole thing. If it was the hood, that's what he would be doing.

Not making excuse, perfect should be the goal. But no matter what the price, these cars are an example of mass production.

Thank You Henry Ford

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

I feel sorry for folks that live in such a perfect world that one mistake, one flaw, one out of place speck of dirt, any imperfection, would cause such anguish. I don't mean to be disrespectful or nasty, but I'm clinically diagnosed with OCD, and these slight imperfections in a mass produced, high volume, extremely complicated product, even to me, don't seem as shocking as they seem to be to others here. I really don't know how to respond to someone who can be "shocked" by a paint blemish, when I look around the world and see the things I see. As has been said before on this forum, "it's tough to have to live with these 'first world' problems". I think all the perfect people out there should cut the rest of us some slack, we can't all be perfect. Like I said, I mean no disrespect, but we all really need to get our priorities in a much more accepting place.

Great perspective jacko, I couldn't agree with you more. Some of the most enjoyable cars I've owned we're some of the oldest and most beat up. I didn't care if I was following a dirty dump truck dropping pebbles all over the road. I just laughed at everyone in new cars trying to evade it. . Btw. I went to paint today on vots. Yay. Oh. And I will be getting a clear bra. Also, anyone know if the trail rated badge is just glued on. I'd like to remove it for a cleaner look.
