Bill -- FYI, it really should be "1600 miles" but after we all got the chance to test drive/QC it before it got to you, we rolled back the odometer.

Hope its just that.
Other than that, i cant stop driving my first hemi equipped GC.
When I test drove a Limited that had just come off the truck (hadn't even gone through dealer prep) I smelled what it sounds like you're experiencing. This could be residual oils simply burning off in the engine compartment/transmission. Give it a few days at highway speed and see what it's like after that.

Congrats! I think all the badges are glued on, and should be easily removed.

Purchased 2014 Overland 4X4 with off-road package and Technology Group. Color: Maximum Steel with Jeep Nepal Beige interior (a nice combination).

Have had it three weeks with no problems at all. Unconnect does have a learning curve and is a bit tricky. This is Jeep number 12 and hands down the best ever! The first time brake assist kicks in will get your attention.

Super satisfied.

Jim

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

I just traded in my 2011 limited v6 for a 2014 overland v6 . I can't believe its doing the same thing with a totally different transmission. When it down shifts into 1st gear you hear and feel some kind of clunck or thump. I'm very disappointed. whoever gives the final OK after development should be fired.

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

I've had my Overland for almost a month now and 1000 miles later I have had no issues other than a random reboot on the radio while I was driving that lasted less than 30 seconds. I haven't had any of the issues listed here or in other threads.

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

I've noticed that even though I turn the radio off (mute) before turning off the engine, the next time I start it, whether and hour or 2 days later, the radio is turned back on again. Guess its normal. My 12 Overland didn't do that.

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

I am having all kinds of issues with the Uconnect system, the air ride light sometimes sticks on "rising"and will not go off. SD card and Ipod keeps freezing the system. Radio stays on after i Exit the vehicle and Ignition is OFF. Climate controls go back to default. System check boxes go back to default. Squeaky arm rest and the list is long.....
It would seem I got one of the bad ones.

For those of you who traded in your 2011 or 2012 GC, do you regret it? Would you recommend someone in the market for a GC to look at an 11 or 12 to save money or is the 14 worth the extra $$

Thanks in advance!

Re: Those who have a 2014, any problems? or problem free?

Depends on if you want the new, unproven transmission that doesn't increase fuel economy, and maybe marginally improves performance. The larger screen is nice, but then you're stuck with that unit and can't replace it. You also lose some of the buttons to control various functions of the car, as they're migrated to the touch screen

Personally, I'd get the 11-13 over the 14 even if there was no price difference. IMO, it's a better package for the long haul, and I don't like the front end, shifter, new steering wheel, tail lights, or wheels (except the normal Overland ones).

FWIW, consider yourselves lucky. Dodge has had something like a 90% fail rate on QA for 2014 Rams. The UAW guys have to work a new shift they don't like, and "they're stressed out from it". Yeah, right, they're CLEARLY not doing a crappy job to get management to give them the schedule they want...

That's assuming that people not having problems are equally likely to go register and post on an internet forum as people having problems. I don't think that's accurate.

Preach it brother! I agree 100%
