Do you or do you not have problems with it? And if your's has problems, what's wrong? Does anyone have one that is completely problem free?

Depends on if you want the new, unproven transmission that doesn't increase fuel economy, and maybe marginally improves performance. The larger screen is nice, but then you're stuck with that unit and can't replace it. You also lose some of the buttons to control various functions of the car, as they're migrated to the touch screen

Personally, I'd get the 11-13 over the 14 even if there was no price difference. IMO, it's a better package for the long haul, and I don't like the front end, shifter, new steering wheel, tail lights, or wheels (except the normal Overland ones).

FWIW, consider yourselves lucky. Dodge has had something like a 90% fail rate on QA for 2014 Rams. The UAW guys have to work a new shift they don't like, and "they're stressed out from it". Yeah, right, they're CLEARLY not doing a crappy job to get management to give them the schedule they want...

We've been problem free at 1000 miles so far except for one freeze of the touchscreen trying to put a favorite into the Nav system. UConnect does have its awkward moments, but we've never had a ttouchscreen or anything like it before, so some of it is just us too.

I had the strangest thing happen with the nav today. I was using it to display the map as 3D and when I got into downtown Long Beach right before it started to show the buildings as 3D, the entire system shutoff. The nav stopped navigating, music shut off, and then the startup screen came on and everything resumed like nothing happened. I don't understand what may have happened and it didn't happen again on the trip home. Anyone else have this happen and should I be worried about this becoming a bigger issue, or wait and see if it happens again?

Just got home from a 1600 mile road trip. Only 2 problems with the jeep. Radio locked up once, but Nav and Climate control stayed working, after shuting off and restarting the radio went back to normal.
At 1497miles it developed a major Rattle, was under the drivers seat and was enought that I slowed to 40mph and took the first offramp i came to. Crawled all over looking for somthing. Thought it might be the inner fender slapping the frame but was still making noise when i got back on freeway. Called the closest jeep dealer and they said they would keep a tech around to look at it. They put on a lift and we were looking at it when we both saw it.........It was the part # sticker on the front driveshaft. During slow speeds it would stay coiled but when it turned at highway speeds it would uncoil and slap a bracket on the Trans.
Other than those problems i am happy with My 2014 Overland.

I've had a few issues... condensation in both headlights... my steering wheel shakes at 110-120km/h +... someone said maybe the wheel weights, need to be rebalanced.. Some carpet at b-pillar is loose... A flaw in my paint on the C-pillar...a round ciruclar pattern from when they sanded and buffed out dirt in paint. I had that buffed out yesterday at Body Shop... Also I had a heck of a time trying to get a gas station nozzle to fit into the capless fuel tank.... unless they need to be broken in or something.. It was unusually difficult.... need to mention when I bring it in for Serive on Thursday.... I'm a bit dissapointed so far...Also I programmed my garage door opener for the Homelink and every since that day I've had issues of my garage door opening and closing on its own... leaving my garage open... at odd times.. not very good for security reasons when I'm sleep at night only to find my garage door wide open in the morning... WTF? I also couldn't get the Jeep Homelink to accept the signal off of the actual learn button on the garage door unit. I had to use the handheld transmitter.

Went and filled mine up for the first time tonight. Holy HECK that was almost impossible. I didn't think I was ever going to get the nozzle in and at one point I thought I was going to break the fuel pump. Is there some sort of trick to it that we are missing?

My 14 Summit popped up a message on the nav screen today that said " Vehicle Phone Not Ready - See Dealer". I noticed Bing search not working.
Wonderful, guess I'll be visiting the dealer soon and I'm sure they won't know what to do.

A little over 300 miles and two weeks and almost all is well. I posted my observations re: the odd outside temp readings (stuck on colder than air temp and moves up after maybe 10 minutes, but not all the way to the outside temp - that takes longer, if it ever happens. Example 43 degree outside temp reading during two drives today - it was 68 and then 70 out). There was some ballpoint pen on the door panel leather - dealer says Chrysler will address that. Other than that, it's quiet, it's smooth and I really enjoy it. The UConnect 8.4" system has been fine - and I like that it reminds me when there's a Red Sox game on.

Going on a week with my Limited and only a couple small issues. UConnect for some reason takes forever to bring up my traffic/weather station when I use the traffic button. Easier to just program the station as a favorite and go to it that way. Only other issue is a small paint defect in the driver for right below the chromed trim under the window. Bugs the shit out of me, but I'm not about to screw with the factory paint finish. My 2011 JK Unlimited took $6k worth off hail damage at 5 months old and it's now two different shades of yellow. I actually hope it gets pummeled again this season on that side so I can have all that work redone by a better body shop.

GC h has Ben great other than those minor issues though.

Just got my new 2014 GC Laredo. Loving it so far! The only issue I'm having (other than Bluetooth not remembering my DROID bionic-not the end of the world) is I notice a slight click/tick sound behind the steering wheel/instrument cluster when the it shifts around gears 6 and 7 at low speeds (15-25mph). It definitely sounds electronic and not mechanical, and it does not affect the driving at all. I believe it only happens when I'm in ECO mode though. I've only had the car since Saturday and haven't noticed it every time (only have 180 miles on it). I will be going on a short road trip this weekend, so I plan on really noting when I actually hear it. Has anyone else heard a similar noise?

Just had mine in because of 4WD service light and traction light. Is faulty actuator in diff, they have to replace whole diff, but still, drives ok, can't or shouldn't go bush bashing though. Only 25,000 Klms.

I got the homelink down, but I have to hold the button for almost 5 seconds before the garage door responds and opens/close. Not an issue since I prefer using that then to keep a remote in the car, but it did annoy me at first.

Other issue, I ran into a problem with the radio detecting the SD card. My wife was driving all day yesterday and the SD card wasn't being recognized. She turned the car off and back on, took out the card and put it back in and finally just gave up. I couldn't figure out what the issue was myself and after leaving the store, she had me drive. Would you believe as soon as I got in and started the car, it started working and reading as normal. The only thing I could say was the car likes me better, but she didn't like that. I don't want to take it in if this is a one time occurrence, but has anyone else had this issue?

If you take it in and it is working then I doubt they will be able to do anything.

So far I have been using a 32gb "Cruzer Fit" Thumb drive and haven't had any problems with it, other than sometimes it is slow to read. And I think that has to do with the size b/c I originally had a 4gb "cruzer fit" Thumb Drive in and it was lightning quick.

On the phone problem - I have a Pioneer AVICZ1 system in my Explorer witht he Bluetooth option. Sometimes I notice it will disconnect from my phone on the freeway. I think it may be caused by semi-trucks running illegal CB radios, but that is just a guess based on observation of when it happens. It reestablishes the link with my phone after reaching sufficient distance from the truck-trailers. It happened with my old phone and happens with my new Galaxy Note phone.

Just a note, although it's miniscule, usb thumbdrives will draw a slight current even if the vehicle is turned off if the usb receptacle stays hot. Don't know if it does in the JGC. Anyone know?

Traded in my 2011 Durango Citadel on 3/30 for a 2014 Summit.. and love it. I liked Durango a lot, but some of the tech was lacking & uconnect issues were irritating. There was only one Summit within hundreds of miles of my dealer spec'd how I wanted (granite metallic, black interior, v6, summit) and I was very lucky to get it. They had several people make offers on it while it was sitting in lot waiting for me to pick it up, lol. Even GM was impressed by it because he hadn't seen a summit yet.

After reading some of the posts in here, I was nervous that I would run into some issues, especially given how anal I am about everything in general. However, I must say.. it's pretty much perfect. I can usually find something to b**ch about, but after 2 weeks, nothing yet. Uconnect works great, remote app for phone works great, car rides smooth, all features work, no rattles/squeaks, HK audio sounds AWESOME. Only unconfirmed issue is BT audio stream drops sometimes/randomly when playing music, but I can't pin that on UC yet, since I am using a rooted GNII with custom rom.. could just be bug in BT stack as I haven't tested audio anywhere else with it yet.

Of course, before i took delivery, I made it VERY clear that they were to hook up truck to star tool & perform all updates before I picked it up, which in itself may have prevented me from having issues. I work in IT, and there is a reason mfg's release firmware/code updates. Getting your typical mechanic to get on the same page with that mindset is still a challenge, even given how much software directly controls late model vehicles these days. I always make sure they check/perform updates when I go in for an oil change for my vehicles, and it has prooven to serve me well, even though it's a bit of a argument each time. I would suggest everyone do the same. If J2534 adapters & TA subscriptions weren't so expensive, i'd just do it myself, and I think it's ridiculous that it's so hard to keep SW up to date in a vehicle, when it's probably the cause of 80% of late model vehicle issues. There is a 3G radio in system.. would it really be that hard to implement a 'live update' sort of solution???

Anyway, enough ranting. Great truck!

Went out to the store and now both the USB and SD card slot aren't reading. The screen continues to say please wait and then finally it says something about the phone not being detected and take to dealer for service. On the rear view mirror, there's now a red light in the center lite up and the screen mentions something about 911. Not good and hopefully the dealer can resolve this issue.

Took it into the dealer today and left it there for the day while I was at work. They looked at the radio, but the tech had some allergic reaction and had to go to the hospital, so he didn't get to complete the diagnostic. They said they might order a new unit, but want me to bring it back in for 10 minutes to download the data off it and read the codes. They also placed an order for a new shifter. The guy said it comes in 2 sections and the part is nearly $200, so they will have me come back in when it arrives. Since it's still new, parts aren't in stock and will take up to 2 weeks to get in. Not the best experience, but I've dealt with worse at Chrysler dealers where they do nothing and have me wait to replicate the issue before attempting any repairs

Yea.. I noticied some in the driver side light on mine in the same spot as your pic , the night I picked it up. Already left dealer when I saw it, but it dried up and I haven't seen it again .. yet. Suppose i'll put it in shop if it comes back. I had to pull tailight off pass. side to fix that as well. One of the retainer studs in the back of it was 1/2 way unscrewed and kept light from sitting flush and was rubbing on lift gate when it opened. Was easy enough for me to fix though.

MIL came on the other day when I got in to drive home from work. Whipped out bluetooth obdII dongle & torque and found it was P0456 (EVAP very small leak detected). Usually it's gas cap that can cause that ... but there is no gas cap to check ... so I ran fill funnel in/out of nozzle a few times in case maybe a switch/sensor was stuck & checked wiring harnesses/lines were visually secure under hood, cleared code and haven't seen it come back in about 15 drive cycles so far. Will keep an eye on it and put it in shop if I see it again I suppose.

I had condensation in one headlamp enclosure when I picked up my '14 last Saturday. I pointed this out to the salesman and he told me it wasn't unusual. It was a cold and rainy day, and he said the enclosures are vented because of the heat produced by the hid lamps, and it should dry out quickly when I drove it. He did say that if it persisted, to bring it in and they would probably replace the assembly. I drove it 3 miles to my house and it was clear when I got there. I will keep an eye on it to see if it recurs, and take it in if it does.
