Re: Thud in steering wheel at low speed

I have a Laredo 3.6 4x4 and it has this issue, a dull thud in steering wheel when braking. No quadralift.

Mine is in today and I will update everybody later on when I get some sort of answer. I'm not 100% sure if my symptom is the same, but I feel a knock or bump in the wheel when turning at slow speeds, and also over bumps. It almost feels as if something is loose.

Just some more info on my situation. I brought mine back to the dealer on day 2 because there was ATF dripping from the engine. The dealer advised it was power steering fluid that they overfilled prior to delivery. Sounded like bs. I then checked my service history online and on the same day I took delivery they submitted a claim for 2 steering hoses. Not sure why they would need to do that when brand new so I am a little suspicious about what really happened before delivery. It has 9 miles at delivery, same mileage noted on the service history.

That sounds like the same problem I have and what others have described.

Re: Thud in steering wheel at low speed

I have the same on my 3.6 Overland, with quadralift, I have only 1850 km, so I will probably be waiting for the first oil change to ask my dealer.

Re: Thud in steering wheel at low speed

Just got it back. They bled the PS fluid just in case air got in from when they had to add fluid from before delivery. The thud is still there, no difference. They could not find anything out of the ordinary.

This is what I would have expected. That's why I have not even brought it up to the dealer. I think based on the number of responses to this it may be something that is considered normal for now until they come up with a fix for it. Does yours have the 18 or 20 inch wheels?
