I have a 2011 Laredo package with the reverse camera, but when I shift to reverse the side mirrors do not tilt down. I checked the manual and looked for the setting on the instrument panel display but did not find it in the menus. Should it be there?
I really miss the tilt mirrors, had them on my aspen.
thanks for any help
From the manual, if you don't see this option then you either didn't scroll far enough down or it's not enabled on the Laredo, it works fine on my Overland.
Customer-Programmable Features (System Setup)
Personal Settings allows you to set and recall features
when the transmission is in PARK. If the transmission is
out of PARK or the vehicle begins moving, a warning
message SETUP NOT AVAILABLE, is followed in three
seconds by, VEHICLE NOT IN PARK.
Press and release the UP or DOWN button until Setup
displays in the EVIC.
Use the UP or DOWN button to display one of the
following choices.
.
.
. Tilt Mirror in Reverse
When this feature is selected, the outside rearview mirrors
will tilt downward when the ignition switch is in the
RUN position and the transmission shift lever is in the
REVERSE position. The mirrors will move back to their
previous position when the transmission is shifted out of
REVERSE. To make your selection, press and release the
SELECT button until a check-mark appears next to the
feature showing the system has been activated or the
check-mark is removed, showing the system has been
deactivated.
It still may be programmable through the dealer computer, if you can find someone with the computer that is willing to go through the options. I know on my WK, it isn't a customer programmable option, but it is in the options that the dealer can program.
Atleast all of you knew of this feature. I have the overland and this feature is news to me. Can anyone guess the fist thing I will be doing when I get up.

This is also news to me as well. My brother was surprised that the mirrors didn't tilt down on the Overland like his cars. I'll have to go through the menu and see if I can find the setting.
Exactly. The tilt down for the mirrors isn't for backing up per se, it's to check the wheels as you are nearing the curb to avoid hitting your wheels. Otherwise, what is the point of having them tilt downward? I always turn my body and head and look out the tailgate to back up, that is what will give you maximum visibility. I love the tilt-down feature on my SRT8, don't want to scratch those wheels up anytime soon!
My current vehicle has it, but only one mirror at a time. The switch used to determine which mirror you are adjusting determines which will tilt. Center position is off, which is where mine remains.
After moving twice with Penske's largest truck (26'), I've missed those large mirrors allowing me to see the tires when maneuvering. Love the mirror tilt feature so much that I hate my accord not having it lol.
