Tiny White specks

Today I decided to go through a car wash to wash away the dirt and bird poop that made its way to my car. When I got home I noticed there were many tiny white specks on the hood and some on the windshield. It looks like paint, but not really. I'm not sure if these specks were on the car before the car wash. I tried to rub it off with my finger and even tried to flick it with my nail, but it doesn't come off or at least easily. Are there any methods you guys would recommend on removing the specks?

Thanks in advance all!

Re: Tiny White specks

With speck remover of course....

I use a mild soap or even just water with a damp rag and gently swirl around the stuf that doesn't come off at the wash. I have McGuires detailer that I use as well as a safe alternative to gently swirling off the rougher spots and giving a detail wax at the same time. Anything rougher or stronger Im not a fan of on this vehicle.

I'm sure there are good products like goo gone for heavier stuff.

Re: Tiny White specks

Most probably someone was painting nearby with a sprayer. The tiny spray can travel pretty far in the wind. I have seen this happen many times. A good detailer can get the little paint dots off your vehicle.

Re: Tiny White specks

Sounds like it could be dried wax or soap from the car wash. Try the damp rag or soaking it, but don't swirl anything unless you're a fan of swirls in your paint. Soak it throughly, leave a damp rag on the spot, or blob of googone or tar remover, and see if it wipes off easily with a cotton or microfiber cloth (one direction/swipe as short as possible, then another direction, into the spot and just over, not past it). If not, see if it's easier to pick off wet or dry. Gently use your fingernail through the cloth, in as small an area of the spot as possible, and pick it off gently. You could also use a clay bar w/lubricant but I assume you don't have that. I am betting on dried wax or soap, which will probably dissolve in another wash/the simplest wet and wipe process.
