I'll keep an eye on this and track mileage to see the effects there.

Greetings,

Keep us posted on your MPG findings not that you have the fix.

In my area, with these years winter blend of gas, it seems that the MPG dropped more than I excepted. It is down close to 2 MPG loss.

Best for now.

I have a 11 jgc with hemi and has anyone made any headway with dealerships on this recall? With either loaners or at least a date for parts to arrive?

Ditto for me. I really need my vehicle for travelling off road with my family. Mine turns over but won't start. Haven't had the stalling issue yet (knock on wood). This situation forces me to alter my holiday travel/work plans.

Re: TIPM Recall

I have a 2011 JGC with 26,000 miles that is part of the P54 recall. Joined this forum today so I could post my recent experience.

- Had first instance of not starting in mid-October; took 2-3 attempts for it to start. Did an internet search and saw the TIPM/fuel relay issue and expected recall. At the time, the problem was a minor irritant and I thought, just wait for the recall to fix it.
- Received the P54 recall notice around end-October. Called my dealer who said he was waiting for the part to arrive.
- Problem got progressively worse - longer to start and once the battery drained because fuel pump runs after engine turned off. Last week, reached the stage where I cannot drive the vehicle (risk of being stranded, etc.). Still no part at dealer.
- Called Chrysler today - no help. Don't know ETA of part at my dealer. Cannot cover cost of car rental. Did put my case on "special tracking", but I'm sure every case is special with Chrysler!
- Next step - calling my dealer to see if he can build the part (using Star Case # S1308000399) so at least my jeep is roadworthy until official part arrives.

I like my jeep but with these type of quality issues and Chrysler management of the recall may sell and get something more reliable.

Re: TIPM Recall

That's crap. They paid for a rental for me for almost a week while waiting on the recall to launch. You should give them crap about that. They did say they didn't HAVE to do that under the recall... but they did it as a courtesy.

Re: TIPM Recall

Has anyone been able to contact the class action lawyer? I've tried email and three calls and nothing....

Took my gc in today and they are replacing the tipm with a new one to satisfy the recall since its a part they add on for the recall I guess. But according to the dealer all the new tipm have been updated and are recall valid. So have a rental for a couple days till they get the part from IL.

This was no easy task getting the dealer to do this either

Re: TIPM Recall

Shoot this guy an email... Roland Tellis at rtellis@baronbudd.com. I had been in touch w/ him, but decided against joining the class since the recall got mine running well again.

Re: TIPM Recall

That's what I'm on the fence about if they fix it should I still join the class action. I waited a month before I went to the dealer and raised hell.

Re: TIPM Recall

If anyone is going to join the class, I strongly recommend keeping a journal to document the times it won't start correctly. I started one over a year ago which I think played into their decision to go ahead and fix mine on recall before it officially launched.

Re: TIPM Recall

I have not got anyone to confirm that the fuel relay is upgraded in the new TIPM. I do know the part number is different then the one the jeep came with from the factory. I spent the $$$ and put in a new one, so far so good! Slowly gaining confidence in it. Knock knock
