Suspect a fix would take a good electrician about a half hour to beef the traces but dealerships do not have those.

BTW according to my '12 OM the plugs (16 of them) in a Hemi should be changed at 64k miles, it is the Pentastar that goes 100K.
The latest version of the '12 OM (6th edition) has it at 32k. I had my '13 Hemi done last week at 30k which is what the '13 OM (5th edition) says. That hurt.

Re: TIPM Recall

Seems to be something Chrysler got from Merc. The Crossfire V6 (Merc 320) also has two plugs per cyl.

Re: TIPM Recall

The whole hemi designation is in some obscure reference to dual ignition being like a hemispheric chamber... Many older cars had it.. Maserati 3500gt did for one. Might i stress "older" ; )

Re: TIPM Recall

I had the fuel pump relay recall performed in March. Since then, the engine has stalled out 6 times when coming to a stop, including twice in the past week while taking my 4 month old to daycare. Chrysler has had my JCG since Friday trying to diagnose the issue, but said they don't know what do do until they can reproduce the stall. I don't feel safe driving the vehicle. I told them to keep it until they find the issue. This should be fun. They are good guys, I hope they can figure this out.

Can't they just fix their f ups? How hard could it be?

Re: TIPM Recall

Got my JGC back after 3 full business days (+ a saturday) and they could not find anything behaving improperly. They rewired the entire bypass and put it all back. Drove it around in different situations, and experienced no engine stalls. So they gave it back. I suspect there was a loose connection causing the original TIPM relay to begin functioning, and failing, again. I also suspect they were not authorized by FCA to replace anything above the relay bypass.
So, I'll just go about my normal routine. If we're good now, then that's that. If not, I'll make them give me a Summit Diesel as a loaner and never give it back. Please send positive vibes to Big Red!

Re: TIPM Recall

Guys bare with me as this is my first post.
I have had the Recall done a week ago but it still stalled on the highway 2 days after i picked it up. So i sent it back to the dealer and they called me today and said that i need the TIPM replaced for $1200. Which i argued should be covered under the recall, and they should call Chrysler for approval, but he refused as i am out of warranty. Told me i could come talk to the manager on Monday. Can they do this? Will replacing the TIPM really solve the problem ?

Re: TIPM Recall

I had the recall done last week. It stalled twice this Labor Day weekend. Now what?

Re: TIPM Recall

These issues are making me nervous about having mine "repaired" tomorrow.

Did you have this problem before you had recall done?

Guys, just take your car back. Drop it off, write a letter explaining what you had performed on what date, and what has happened since, and get a loaner vehicle. Tell them you will return after the bypass has been fully inspected and reinstalled, and you'll return the loaner. And if it happens again, you'll be back. We are bypassing a $1200 piece of electronics with a $4 relay. It's not ideal, but it is our only free option. So, make the dealer deal with it until another option is available. Just tell them, it's still stalling in the same fashion that it did before you attempted to fix the situation, but it's not fixed. So, fix it.

Mine has been solid so far this week, especially when driving in the situations where it commonly stalled (early morning, jump straight on highway, come to first full stop). You better damn well know I'll be driving it straight to the dealer and putting my keys on the counter if it happens again.
