Re: TIPM Recall

Just had mine serviced today. I'm hoping I don't have to go back again for this.

Re: TIPM Recall

Just had the recall done on mine today. I've had about 3 stalls, both non moving fortunately. Wish it didn't take the whole day to take care of. Hoping no issues. Got 52K on my 5.7L

Re: TIPM Recall

Well mines going back in had the TPM replaced at beginning of recall cause they didn't have parts and it stalls again so parts on order hopefully fixed by end of week.

Do you know the part number of the TIPM they put in? I'm curious if it is the new design that is suppose to have fixed the problem.

Re: TIPM Recall

You can fix the Jeep fuel pump problem yourself. I've been using one of their cables for a year now.

Re: TIPM Recall

Guys, if you had the recall bypass installed and your engine is still stalling, consider asking the dealer to investigate the crank sensor. I had stalls for an entire year, and for about 7 months after the bypass was installed. My crank sensor was replaced about 700 miles ago and I've been stall free since. Best of all, Chrysler covered the tab under warranty event though it's been expired for quite a while. Data recorder saw the crank sensor dropping out under deceleration and causing the engine to stall, the exact symptom of the fuel relay cutting out.

When the crank sensor went bad, did it just stall or did it run rough first and then stall out? Even though we fixed the relay issue I notice it running a little hesitantly, especially at idle and I am wondering if you saw the same issue before the stalling occurred.

Thx in advance.

The vehicle would start fairly normally, then upon driving at highway speeds shortly after starting the jeep, the engine would stall out while decelerating to my first or second stop. Throw the selector into neutral and restart the jeep. Sometimes it would stall twice, but usually just once. Then it would do it after work after the jeep sat for a while. After seeing the engine performance now, I remember seeing a slightly lumpy idle upon first start. I've also noticed that the jeep seems to downshift much more smoothly and not so jumpy upon deceleration now.

Re: TIPM Recall

Just had this completed yesterday. Hopefully no issues. I did not have any stalling issues prior but wanted to be proactive about having it addressed. I'm only at about 30k miles.

Re: TIPM Recall

My 2013 Overland GC got its stall-after-start TIPM issues starting around 20k. I'm now at 40k and had the fuel pump bypass recall done by the dealer a month ago. A few days later, the stall-after-start happened again. Just brought it in to the dealer again to unscrew this problem, and it stalled-after-start right in front of them when they asked me to pull into the bay. For good measure, I didn't cycle through on/off/accessory before restarting, which makes the starter just click without catching until you turn it off. Turns some heads coming from a shiny new jeep. I'll let you know what they say... Has anybody else heard of the recall bypass of the faulty TIPM not working? I told them they need to just get that OEM TIPM out of there and put in the redesigned one... was that the right thing to say?

Thanks!
