You might try a search for Jeep Cares on the site they have assisted many here.

Re: TIPM Recall

I see this issue is back to the top. I now have 6000 miles on my JGC since they replaced the crank position sensor, and have not experienced a single engine stall since. To recap, I was experiencing the exact symptoms described in the recall notice, and the TIPM bypass fix did not resolve the issue. My dealer had My jeep for WEEKS at a time logging data, and Chrysler covered the tab for the entire process even though the ultimate fix wasn't even related to the recall. The dealer even covered my oil change due to the time it took to figure it all out. I have no issues with FCA or my dealer.

When your Jeep stalled you could push the start right away and it would restart correct? When mine stalls if I push the start it just cranks and cranks. If I push it without putting my foot on the brake then press it starts right up. 2 dealers now. One of them fudged my milage (said my jeep had more miles on it when checked out than it actually did) to make it look like they were actually did some testing. the other could not make it stall so ... Jeep wont pay for a rental until the problem is diagnosed. Everyone has problems with a car sometime, Jeep is just so argumentative every time I have called it is not worth the aggravation.

Re: TIPM Recall

I've had a new TIPM installed. This did nothing to fix my stalling at startup or stalling while driving issues. Then I had the relay installed per the recall. This corrected the problem of stalling while driving but it did not stop the stalling at startup. Yesterday I took the POS in to have the crank sensor replaced. Started it this morning... Yup it stalled... Guess I gotta deal with the stalling until the next possible solution is thought up... Not counting on my dealer to come up with that solution...

BuckeyeSRT, have you figured anything out with this issue? I'm going through the exact same issues as you have described. And I've had my jeep in and out of the dealer for 6 weeks now. They got it to stall after start up right in the dealership. Also had me put the data/flight recorder In, and capture it that way, said they have talked to the Chrysler engineers or whatever, but still have no clue as to what's causing it!

They have it all this past week, lucky I was able to get a new wrangler as a loaner this time. My service writer at the dealer called me Friday and said they can put the flight/data recorder back in and he will "take it home for the weekend" to see if he can capture it again (even tho I already did this and they said it didn't show anything that would cause the issue) or I could try taking it to another dealer.

I'm super frustrated and have been dealing with Chrysler directly throughout this whole fiasco as well, and they don't know what to tell me either. No one has even the slightest clue as to the cause. And after reading this thread some I suggested the crank sensor, but they just said they need a "code" in order to replace anything, and also that "forums" is not a good place for info! SMH, what a joke right!

Re: TIPM Recall

Living with it. I can't get any help from two dealers or Chrysler to pay for a loaner. It has officially become a $45k POS

Too lazy to read through the thread, have you replaced the crank position sensor?

As one of the original and continuing posters to this thread I would think I would have read through it. Are you new to the forum?

I have not replaced mine yet either. Just living with it, it sucks and is kind of annoying. But Chrysler was no help and the dealer could have cared less! I will probably never purchase another Chrysler product again, just because of how you get treated once you purchase one. And the sad thing is my wife has a 15 grand Cherokee as well, and just has issues with that at the dealer.

Now I understand the confusion, I'M too lazy to read through the thread and was wondering if you tried the crank position sensor. I'm considering trying that because the recall didn't work on my Jeep.
