I believe in NY it is 30 days. In MA it seems like you only have 15.

Many state lemon laws require at least 4 repair attempts or 30 days out of service. With that said there are still enough differences in the laws where you need to research the specifics of your own state laws.

It's not hard to use the lemon law... you just need to know how it works and make sure you dot all your i's and cross your t's. Good luck to those who end up pursuing it!

Sue them get a lawyer, most lemon laws provide for your lawyers fee's to be paid by the car manufacturer. I had to sue them in federal court because IL lemon law is useless. They are buying mine back in the next few weeks all in all its going to cost me 2k for owning my jeep for almost exactly year and driving for 14k miles.

Here in MA you have up to a year or 15k miles what ever comes first. You can file after that period, however the problem must have been addressed at least 3 times or be without your car for at least 15 day (doesn't have to be consecutive days)
I sent my certified notice of lemon law this past Friday and they have 7 days from receipt of my mailing to fix tune problem or give the option to swap or reimburse.
Also last Thursday I called jeep re: the issue and was told that some one will call me back asap..... It never happened
That is what prompted me to send the notice of lemon law to their legal department. Maybe...just maybe I might get a call now

Unfortunately, in NYC dealing with dealers is like dealing with drug dealers. They want you to buy what they have for the price that they want. If you want something that is not on their lot they will convince you otherwise. If you still refuse they nag you until you give up.
I'm in NY. Feel your pain.

YOU DO NOT have to buy another Jeep vehicle. They can buy back and nullify whatever contract you had, you will be "made whole." Unfortunately, you probably need a lawyer to do this, but ISG will give you the money back if you have a lemon.

And in NY it's back for three times with the same issue, not four. And even then, sometimes the lawyers can work something out if it's multiple issues for long amounts of time. It seems like you've reached the bar above which they can do something. But you'll need to get a lemon law lawyer. And then Chrysler won't talk to you, and your dealer might not as well. Once you go down that road, just know there's a possibility you're going "scorched earth."

We got our 2014 bought back and after hearing the horror stories, went for a CR-V. 10K trouble-free miles, but we talk about how much we miss the GC every day and can't wait to get back to Jeep. 27 more lease payments.

The good news is that if you decide to get another, it seems the horror stories about the new GC's are getting fewer and further between and that a lot of the issues are being addressed. Still a couple lemons as you can see, but everyone has those. Seems like it's more in line with other manufacturers now. A year ago, things were quite different here.

If you need the name of a lawyer, PM me and I'll let you know who we used. No relation, just had a good experience with them. They got all our money back after our unspeakable experience with the dealer and Chrysler.

Re: Tips on how to ask Chrysler to buy buck the Jeep?

I just got Jeep to buy back my '14 for ongoing Transmission issues. Their standard response was "There is a issue with the vehicle however there is no repair or fix at this time nor is there an anticipated date or time for repair."

Bullshit. I'm sorry but I just spent $50,000 on a Jeep and I expect everything to work properly.

I literally called Jeep Customer Service 3 times a day. Ask to get a "case manager" who has the ability and power to buy back your Jeep should it need it. Don't allow them to shuffle you around. If you qualify under the lemon law, which I did, then Chrysler by law must adhere to buying back the vehicle.

It took about two months for them to agree to repurchase, but I just got my official corporate buy back offer letter in the mail and I couldn't be more happier.

Best of luck.

Awesome.

I will say that the case managers at corporate have very little power to get things done, at least from my experience. The final decision is made by the regional managers. The metro NY one I don't have enough bad things to say about. He told my case manager "no way in hell will he get a new vehicle -- this is a simple warranty issue and we'll eventually get it fixed."

Eventually, the law kicked in and Chrysler was REQUIRED to buy the vehicle back.

Sounds like your regional manager was a bit more flexible. But good luck in NY/NJ/CT if you're trying to get a buyback.

Re: Tips on how to ask Chrysler to buy buck the Jeep?

I just got a call from The Rose Law Firm (the firm that represents Chrysler) in response to me certified letter to them re: MA Lemon Law. They will have a Jeep Technician out to inspect my vehicle on the 20th. Again transmission shifting issues. It is funny the dealer called me the day before and asked if they can attempt to fix it more time. I am glad I said no.....I want the Jeep Tech to see how incompetent that dealers service department is.
