TPMS and warranty.

Simple enough, does anyone know if the TIre Pressure sensor's are covered under the MaxCare warranty, I don't go in until next week but I've got one that's throwing a fit. Thought it might be nice to have a little input before I hear the dealers side. I haven't read my warranty fully but remember a few exclusions including I think these.

It's ranging between 12 and 48psi tossing the caution light anytime it's below range but the tire is fine. These guys are 6 years old so I'm relatively happy with their lifespan considering their job, but I'm not going to cough up what the dealer would like for 4.

Thank you for any input.

Re: TPMS and warranty.

I don't know as I don't have MaxCare yet, but is it worth the claim when you can get a set of 4 for $30-$40 on ebay?

TPMS and warranty.

You installing them? 😀

While I'm in getting an oil change, yeah I figured id mention it, along with the rear wiper motor that sounds like a foghorn. Maxcare provides for a relatively trouble free, or fixable ownership of these things for longer periods. I fixed things on jeeps for decades, I'll let them have the privilege this time, it's worth every cent.

Also thank you, I didn't even look on eBay or at all after the quote, I actually forgot about having tps as I check regularly. If I find a reputable seller I'm going to buy a set and do them with the next tire change .

Re: TPMS and warranty.

I just ordered a set of 4 Shraeder tpms sensors on Amazon for $55. Supposed to be a good brand. Planning ahead to purchase a set of aftermarket wheels in a couple of weeks. Getting those ducks lined up.

5 New 56029398AB Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM 433MHz TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor | eBay

$49.99 for 4 (OEM). I bought from another seller 2 years ago but this is cheaper.

That's a hell of a good deal. Manufacturer Shraeder. I believe they do supply the OEM.

I'm gonna say yes, covered, because my MaxCare (Lifetime) does not specifically list TPMS or anything related/similar as not covered and:

COVERAGE UNDER THE PLAN: WHAT IS COVERED? The Plan will pay the total cost (parts and labor) less a deductible per visit,
to correct any of the following mechanical failures, caused by a defect in materials or workmanship of a covered component and are
not covered by the vehicle’s factory warranty. The only exceptions are those listed under “What is not covered by the Plan”.

And like the bumper to bumper warranty, not being listed as covered does not mean it is not...."COMPONENTS COVERED BY THE PLAN INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)" so it is covered, got it?
