Re: Transfer Case Fluid Drip
It seems to have worked out ok. It was not the internal seal but the internal shaft it was riding on so that took another week for the extra part to arrive. But I got a good service advisor and a good tech who had a lot of experience with this transfer case so I feel good about that. I haven't been too much off road yet but I have checked it all out with no problems so far.
The other good thing was that I had skid plates and front tow hooks installed during the same service visit and instead of discarding the OEM plastic skid plate on the rear driver's side so that the fuel tank skid plate on that side could be installed, the same tech trimmed it to fit with the the skid plate and made it look factory. Otherwise it would have left brake lines and a fuel line exposed. Can't believe Chrysler designed something like that because road debris or gravel could have easily messed up a brake line. Anyway that was another calibration point in the tech's favor so there are some good ones out there.
All in all I am pleased with the service dept at my dealer and the results so far.
