Thumbs down Transfer case service

Just checking in here to see if I can get info on how to change the ATF+4 oil in my transfer case on my 2012 Grand Cherokee 5.7.
Any info would help, I'm not an idiot, just need to know if special tools (socket size) are required?

Re: Transfer case service

I can not speak to yours specifically, but it is easier than changing engine oil. Take the fill plug out first, then the drain plug. Don't want to drain it if you can't get the fill plug out I think they are 17mm bolts. Retorque to 20 lb ft.
You pass 60000 miles already?!?

Re: Transfer case service

I am at 97,000 km, my Jeep will be 2 years old in May 2014. I do a lot of driving, mostly highway. I have taken it moose hunting a few times and out in fields when bow hunting.
My buddy always says "I'm not so sure of this" when we head down a bush trail, but man, this things goes places guys with Chevy and Ford 4x4's don't. They park theirs on the side before the going gets rough. That Quadra Drive II system walks through anything I have thrown at it yet... !

Re: Transfer case service

Man, you did some miles kilometers! I only have 40000 miles on mine and it is 28 months old and thought that was a lot.
I am assuming you have the MP3023 transfer case. Found this for you. The drain and fill are 27 and 28 respectively
