Transmission bang from reverse to drive

2016 Overland HA V6.....I noticed today at 1016 miles I'm hearing a transmission "thud-clunk" when I shift from reverse to drive and vice versa. It also was parked on slight incline last night when I shifted to reverse it really was loud. Thoughts? Common?

Re: Transmission bang from reverse to drive

I don't think I've ever owned or driven a vehicle that didn't have some kind of driveline clunk going between D and R. And yes, it's worse on an incline. There are a lot of U and CV-joints in there and that's just the slack being taken up. I wouldn't worry about it.

Re: Transmission bang from reverse to drive

I have the same problem on my 14 . Its bad enough were I have put it in neutral and then put the park brake on so when i get a chance to back in it wont make that clunk sound.
