When I talked to my salesman he gave me the "its normal" answer. I just completed a soft battery "reset" as recommended by GCLimited but it did not work. I will see my dealer in the next few days... wish me luck.
Just curious...when you tried the reset, after you disconnected the negative cable on the battery, did you:

1) Pump the brakes a couple times to dissapate any residual system power.

2) Wait 15 to 30 minutes.

3) After starting, let it idle for 5 minutes.

4) Take it for a short 15 minute cruise.

Thanks GCLimited. Yes I did. I have to say the transimission shifting for other gears feel smoother and sometimes there is no bump/jerk downshifting into 1st, but right now that is the exception not the rule...

Re: Transmission Issues

I just got it back yesterday and I haven't felt the clunk as of yet so that's good so far. Also the shifting in eco mode feels better. More get up and go off from a stop without having to give it a lot of gas. No complaints as of now.

Re: Transmission Issues

They said they did a software update and due to the differences I feel so far, I would have to believe they did. I am not sure however what it entailed.

Re: Transmission Issues

@imcraz, thanks for the update. Mine goes in Tuesday and I am going to ask about a software update. Turning off ECO mode definitely helps mine but that is not ideal.

Angry Re: Transmission Issues

I just bought yesterday 07-30-2014 Jeep grand Cherokee Limited 2014.
Driving home from dealer I got a warning light "SERVICE SHIFTER".

Went back to dealer, service manger just called me today (07-31-14) to explained that this warning light is due to a bad, "SHIFT MODUALE" and needs to be replaced,

I will keep updating in detail as this B.S unfolds..
